Amazing New Ghost Video

Wednesday June 7, 2006
Really good, compelling ghost videos are rare indeed. But our friends at Western New York Paranormal seem to have succeeded recently during an investigation at the historic ghost town of Valentown in Victor, New York. "It was captured using a Lorex digital surveillance system," says Director Dwayne Claud. "A hard wired camera recorded directly down to a hard drive. This is the original unaltered footage." The tape has been examined by experts. "The footage has been verified by Timewarner and Lorex (who makes the camera) along with a slew of others," Dwayne says, and no one has been able to debunk it. Go take a look at this amazing video.

Wow, I don’t know. It just seems too good to be true. The figures movements seem so “alive” and human. It seems to be actually walking. you can discern when the feet of the shuffling figure come in contact with the ground by the way the body reacts with each step. I had an experience with an entity I believe to have been a ghost. That entity seemed to move toward and past me ‘without movement’, almost as if it were on wheels. It made no steps, arms didnt swing by its sides, it just ‘floated’ by and when it moved from in front of me to the left, it did not take steps, it just changed direction. It made no movements that made it seem alive. Obviously I can’t base my beliefs about this figure in the video on the one incident I had with a moving entity but I seem to read this same thing that happened in my case over and over and over again in other cases involving “ghosts”. Does that mean the figure in this video is not a ghost? of course not. I’m not sure what it is.

I have been looking hard at this video and see four distinct breaks in the video. Each of the breaks shows a single frame shot of another room, or more precisely, the bottom half of another room and the top half of the room completely. If you view the video frame by frame you can see the frames. I do not understand how this could have bled through to this video using digital equipment. Also, the apparition completely blocks out the objects behind it as it moves and at one point, raises it’s arm and a blinking light appears on the end - exactly like another investigator using equipment to do their own investigation. I have asked some hard questions on the original site and not gotten much in the way of answers. I was wondering how you examined this video, and if you have any answers to the questions I pose? To me, it is another investigator, dressed completely in black with a black hat, making a sweep of the room and moving just out of the IR, which means that the black clothing they wore would show up gray or whitish, and explain the solid mass of the object as it passes in front of pillars, chairs, etc. I would really like to know how this was validated with all the glitches, other frames inserted and no corresponding information from the investigator in the shot. They both disappear, (investigator and ‘apparition’) in the inserted frames. I wanted to know if there was verification that no other investigator was in the room, wearing black with a hat. The other investigator should be able to verify this.

Unfortunately, the investigator in the foreground of the video has verified that the shadowy figure was in fact a person standing in the back of the room. She has photos of the woman. She also did not give permission for this video to be aired publicly, and claims that Valentown has also asked that the video be removed, or at least not claimed to be authentic.

(4) Western New York Paranormal says:

The investigator in the foreground represents a competivie paranormal group. The evidence she supplied us to debunk the footage is shown on our website. It was not enough evidence to debunk the footage so we nneded to rely soley on independant analysis of the footage itself from experts in the field and in the field of video analysis. There has been no plausable explaination offered to date. If this were in deed a true human person - how is it transparent? The camera manufacturers state they have never seen anything like this from their equipment and there is no x-ray feature available that lets the camera see through solid objects.

Unfortunately, there will always be controversy in the realm of the paranormal and politics. Our team can not explain this image as well as many others - of course there are skeptics. For another independant analysis I would encourage people to visit www.rochesterparanormal.com

We will continue examination and experimentation with this footage. No one will ever with 100% certainty ever state that a ghost truly exists. We simply said this is a phenomenon we can not explain.

I did look at the evidence she supplied, and the picture of the woman looks exactly like the image in the video. Also, you were using night shot, and the investigator was standing in front of the video camera, which autofocused on her and everything else was therefore unfocused. It has happened many times if you have something in the foreground of a camera on IR night shot: so I am confused at these experts. Who were they? It is a very common occurance. Have you talked to the other woman who was in the room? Can you show video before and after so we can judge for ourselves? It is way to controversial with actual photos of the woman in the back of the room to say it’s authentic. Not only that, you can see the woman in the background using the railing to find her way slowly across the room. It was pitch black for her, so of course she walked slowly. She’s blurry because of the autofocus and she was wearing black. The black blends in with the black background. Really, it happens all the time. An expert should know that or at least have advised you of that.

Oh, and I meant to tell you that Time Warner does not authenticate paranormal videos. They may have said that the wiring was ok, but to claim they authenticated it is probably not a good idea. My nephew works at Time Warner, and he looked into this, and said that if anyone did authenticate it in Time Warner’s name, to allow it to be portrayed as an authenticated paranormal video would probably lose their job.

(7) Paul Byrne says:

It doesn’t look right at all. That is not natural walking - more like shuffling. But if it is a fake it is a darn good one.

Why do they not play back the tape at the same speed it was recorded - they’ve sped it up

Yet another photo that show how fraud is perpetrated on those who want to believe. Kudos to Rochester Paranormal for rooting out the nonsense.

I saw the video on my little old P.C and what I saw was this whatever looks like it is stumbling along and crosses in front of a cross, and you can see the cross thru the image. I,m not saying this is a ghost or hoax but I did see the cross thru the image several times. But I agree with Paul Byrne, if its fake then it is a darn good one, but I did see thru it on my P.C

(11) Dwayne Claud says:

In an effort to continue the evaluation of this footage, Western New York Paranormal had scheduled a re-visit of the site in which the team would attempt to recreate the scene. To see if we could actually make a live person transparent as some of the skeptics of this video have claimed. The date was set with Valentown - but in a turn of events yesterday the museum has now requested a fee of $25 per investigator to come back onto the property to do so. This would mean an investiment of over $250 for our team to do so.

After a very long conversation with our own board of directors, we do not have a stated reason for the sudden addition of charges to our group to prove or disprove this footage. It’s not our policy to charge people for investigations nor pay to investigate a location, we are far too busy with cases to do that. So unfortunately at this time, the footage will have to stand on its own and remain a subject of debate.

There was a full strategy for further evaluation of the material posted on the website. We will continue with that plan as much as possible and will continue to post it as it becomes available.

Do they charge other people? Or is it only just you?

(13) Chad Vieth says:

That is amazing footage, fake or not. To actually see a a “phanton” walk like if it had an aliment(limp), is cool. very believable. Wierd tho it, wierd tho there are rival Paranormal groups. Should share and learn.

(14) Dwayne Claud says:

It’s a public haunt. They charge everyone to go in but never initially charged us - but now wishes to charge us to return.

(15) hmmm says:

When you’re a believer and you see footage like this it’s amazing. You’re like, “finally, proof that there is something out there.” But you also have to remember the adage all publicity is good publicity. After watching the video frame by frame the first 15 or 20 frames are the same. Then in the very next frame everything changes. It’s like they’re in a whole different room. The investigator and “ghost” have disappeared. If, as claimed, this video is a continuous recording of the same room without stopping then explain how this happened? Yes, it’s amazing that you can see through this “ghost” but there are ways i’m sure to fake that.

(16) juniper says:

If anything, I’m more surprised at the “rivialries” between the 2 groups.

I can clearly see transparency in the figure. If it is a hoax, it’s pretty convincing to me. Note: just because it “walks” and doesn’t “glide” doesn’t mean it not a phantom. I once had an experience with a friends recently passed father who, when he appeared was gently rocking back and forth on his feet. He looked just as real as anyone else.

(17) debunked says:

1. there are four distinct breaks in the film.
2. the “figure” is a normal human figure walking backwards to attain a disjointed quality to the movements.
3. the “investigator” in the frame rocks slightly back and forth in time with the footsteps of the “figure.”
4. there are a set of automobile lights that are mysteriously going backwards and then the frame skips and the headlights are going forwards again.

This is clearly hoaxed footage. Very badly hoaxed I might add. Anyone fooled by this really need to get out of this field of work. They are not doing the paranormal any good.

(18) Celephais says:

A while ago I used to be a “fence sitter” on the issue of ghosts, but after studying ghost photos, videos and stories for quite a while I don’t really believe in the existence of ghosts. I think that the whole idea of ghosts is for many a form of enterntainment for people who want to believe. In a way I can understand since the 1963 version of The Haunting is one of my favourite films. It’s enjoyable to get a supernatural scare. And the idea that it could be *real* is a an attractive idea to many people. But I’ve never seen anything that ever made me think that ghosts are real, and this video doesn’t either. The “ghost” acts and walks altogether too much like a regular person. I’ve heard the lame argument that “of course it acts like a person, ghosts were alive people once and are simply carrying on in the spirit world the same as they did when they were alive!” Which isn’t really much of a thoughtful argument.

Sorry guys but nice try (FAKE). when watching this video i was very very impressed i had never seen fottage as good as this before normally the ghost is just an orb. Then i read that the second investigation did not go ahead Due to the fact of the $250 that it would have cost to go back and that they are “Busy” with other investigations. Western New York Paranormal cannot justify not going back with so called “REAL” footage as good as this. and i take it that this is one of the only videos that has had a ghost of human shape and stature moving init. i would be itching to get back there if i was them even if it cost $250 even a 16 year old working at McDonalds could afford that which means it must be FAKE hey guys do us a favour either go back there or just pull my other leg
