Bigfoot and the Cherokee Hill - feature article
Sunday April 8, 2007
Bart Nunnelly is convinced that Bigfoot exists, and may even be thriving in the many remote wilderness areas of North America. He has good reason to think so. Bart devotes a great deal of his time researching sightings and examining evidence of these remarkable forest giants in Kentucky. And the evidence he’s gathered is both fascinating and compelling. Bart recently met with a Cherokee elder who took Bart on a journey into the heart of Bigfoot territory and provided detailed information about the giant from his own experiences as well as the age-old traditions of the Cherokee people, who know these creatures well. This is Bart's story....

Excellent article! I wonder who currently has the tooth, and whether they will allow any tests to be done on it.

Excellent article Bart! I do think however if one looks very closely at many of the reports from the BFRO that these animals are not only found in wilderness areas but also in habitats that are very close in to major metropolitan areas such as Omaha, Topeka and St.Louis.
I think what was most interesting is the unquestioned Cherokee insistence that Bigfoot exists. I work in the public school system and where we live, we have a large Native population from different tribal groups. In our school, we promote the Seven Sacred Teachings. Each teaching has an accompanying animal for each virtue, and the animal for “Humility” is the Sasquatch. The sasquatch appears in the list along with the wolf, the turtle, the bear, the eagle, etc. No one questions the existence of these animals. So why would there be a long Native tradition of associating Sasquatch with humility?
Caroline, his friend still has the tooth and insisted in the article that he will not let it be tested; do you still need proof?
