EVP: A Need for Protocol - feature article
Sunday May 20, 2007
In an open letter to all ghost researchers, Stacey Jones, founder of Central New York Ghost Hunters, suggests that as a collective group of serious investigators we develop and establish a set of strict protocols for capturing and evaluating electronic voice phenomena (EVP). It may be the one kind of "hard evidence" for ghosts and hauntings that science might be able to take seriously, but we must be careful about how we gather it. Your ideas, suggestions and discussion are requested.

I’ve had experiences of communication from spirits -
but not ’seeing them’ with my eyes open in a normal way.
rather - voices in my head - or spiritual visions.
One particular case in point -
I deliberately went to an ancient burial chamber near where i live -
and had ’sensations and voices and feelings and visions’ in relation to a particular question in my mind.
I had the sense that these spirits lived in the rocks and earth that made up the burial chamber, like a memory that had embedded itself within the physical material, like magnetic traces on a tape recording.
One thing in particular of interest was that at a certain point I had a vision of seeing a particular symbol of 2 squares superimposed to create an octagon, and then another strong image of a triangle.
I had this ‘vision’ totally in the ‘dark’ - entering the space at night with no light.
When I finished - I put on my torch - and was surprised to see that the symbol of the octagon had been carved in the surface of a triangular rock which made up part of the burial chamber before me.
I agree. I would be willing to attend a meeting(s) on this. A sorta I.S.O.(international standards of operations).
However, I don’t think that we can do enough to remove all of the dogma from the scientific community. But, we can sure try a lot harder.
