Creating the Paranormal - feature article
Sunday November 25, 2007
What we call the paranormal might not be merely as simple as spirits of the dead, alien spaceships and telepathy. (If we can call those simple.) In some cases, these phenomena might have to be looked at with regard to the questions: What is reality? What is consciousness? How do our brains factor into reality and consciousness? These are heavy questions, but if we are to get a handle on what various forms of paranormal phenomena truly are, we have to look for answers. Here are some thoughts on the matter, inspired by recent news reports of normally functioning people who have little or no brain matter.

This was a very interesting article and shows we still know very little about all the things our brain can do. I didn’t understand why the one writer had to put down religion just because he is working on his brain powers. Because I feel you can believe in God and still believe in science.
I think it show that we really are just practising medicine.
There is so much more to life than physical
If the holographic brain is real, then maybe it can help us communicate with autistics?
Perhaps these case studies are re-incarantes and use their “ghost brains” to function normally?
They could have alien beings controling them somehow?
Energy can’t be created or destroyed, but it can be altered and effected.
There are people who desire to see something “paranormal” and do and don’t.
Yet there are others who are apathetic or sceptic who also can experience the “paranormal.”
Life is full of mysteries, that is what makes it challenging and fun.
Very interesting subject.
when I attended nursing school in WashDC
way back when, a man came in with an
injury to his head and neck – he was a
house painter and fell off the ladder.
When we took x-rays of his head, They
found he had no cerebrum or cerebellum..
merely the rudimentary brain….and he
could walk, talk, and paint houses.
Everyone in the hospital had to come and
have a look…..besides, when you have
your OBE – your brain stays on the pillow in your skull, while your mind
is with you wherever you are…..mind
and brain – not the same!
Here are my answers to your questions.
What is reality? Reality is unique to each one of us. That is our beliefs form our personal reality. We through connections or links, Dove tail our reality into those around us and those we encounter as we move around in this our reality. There is also a collective consciousness that dictates to us limits and boundaries at any given evolved time period. As Science comes up with new dictates or ideas of what is reality we tend to go along with most of it.
IN Reality Life is but a dream and our theme song is “Row row your boat Gently down the stream… life is but a dream.”
What is consciousness? Plants have a consciousness. Scientist experimenting with them hooked up to EKG print out machines have proven they link up with their care giver, the one tending to their needs, and even as far as 300 miles away can detect when their care giver has gotten into a serious auto accident. The EKG machine recorded the plants emotions at the exact time of an accident.
Then another experiment proved they can observe and detect when a person does a cruel thing like drop a live goldfish into boiling water. And later when that individual comes around the plant reacts as if out of fear for just the one who did the deed, proving it can recognize individuals. This is consciousness and reveals to us, and as I am an animist it fits my reality, that all things have some of the source within them and are conscious so we can as Shamans do communicate with them. That is plants, trees, animals and even rocks.
How do our brains factor into reality and consciousness? We know we can stimulate different parts of the brain and the patient will have vivid recall of some long ago event he/she has long forgotten. So it would appear that we do use the so called 90% of our brain we say is unused. We store memory in different areas of the brain. And all we ever did, saw or experienced in this body is recorder and if only we could learn to we could recall it all. Look up “The woman with the perfect memory” she reveals to us this is so. AS she could recall events and happenings of all kinds she apparently had experienced or read about. Details that were of a mundane form that most of us would not normally be able to recall. Dates, times, temperatures of that day of week recalled etc.
The many shared Out of Body Experiences reveal to us that it would appear as a spirit we carry this set of memories, our realities recorded in our brains with us. And as again science has revealed what ever we have recorded in our minds is also now a part of every cell within our bodies.
This perhaps explains way a heart transplant recipient suddenly has an urge to drink a beer when she never in her life drank beer or cared to. The heart she received was from a man who loved his beer. This appears to be an example of consciousness being transferred due to the implanted cells.
Man takes consciousness very seriously, and therefore as I can think I AM. And as nothing is lost it only changes form, when we die and metamorphism takes over and we become spirit again, it would appear we take our consciousness with us. I has become a part of who we are and remains with us even on the other side.
So Be it

I would dearly like someone to answer a question. There has been a huge influx of physics, on TV lately. They give all sorts of demostrations of their powers. BUT here is the question–Why cant one of these people find some/any/one, even, of the many people who are lost. I never hear of any of them doing any thing really usefull. In my home town there was a lady walking just down the block from her home and she disappeared. That was two years ago. So where is the psychic when you need it?No body, no nothing, and they had 100 people out looking. No psychic though.
This is a really sore subject for me. I do not believe there is such a entity. Period.I just believe they should do something really useful rather than finding someone behind a door–that is if they really can. I am sorry, but I am mad!Don’t even get me going on these people who “talk” to the dead. Rubish!
Very interesting, thought-provoking article. I think the ‘mind’, or ‘conciousness’, exists in every cell of our bodies, not just in our brains.
Excellant coment Falcon! Delandax your so right many so called psychics are all talk of thought no good action, I think they are called doomsayers not lifesavers. I was wondering if some so called ghosts, etc are astral travellers and depending on their spiritual evolution or grade have a more intense image in the physical world, then those of a lower grade are the ones that have brief spastic actions in this physical world. Just a thought.
