Reminder: Contest: 2008 Paranormal Photo Hoax

Have you always wanted to capture an image of a ghost, a crypto creature or a UFO, but just weren't lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time? No problem. Just make one. Not for the purposes of fooling anyone, just for the purposes of our paranormal photo hoax contest. This year marks our fifth annual event. Here's how you can participate and win a prize. The deadline is May 31, 2008.

And you do this why? So that those who are serious in the paranormal have to discern between real and hoax more often now? What’s next? UFO hoaxes purposely done for sport?

To answer atrueorignall above, it’s all in fun. Just to see who can pull off the “best” fake. Take it from someone who both believes in paranormal activity and has participated in the hoax contest (see the following link for my 2006 entry http://paranormal.about.com/od/ghostphotos/ig/2006-Photo-Hoax-Contest-Slides/Spirit-in-the-Basement.htm )

I think this is a great idea. I’ve already made my first entry.
Dude at the top: I’d think having this opportunity would actually help prevent some people from creating “real” hoaxes. It’s fun to try your imagination at creating something like this, but not everyone wants to fool people. Sure, some do, but for everyone else, this is just a fun creative endeavor. Be glad these people are passing themselves off as legitimate.
