What’s with the gnome sightings? Do you think people are seeing real creatures… real little people? Or are they delusional? Or just making it all up?
Since the holiday since is upon us and today I was putting up my tree, I was thinking about a paranormal event that occurred several years ago in my house. I have just emerged from a two year period of personal turmoil in which I lost my mom, suffered a major health crisis and left a spiritually unfulfilling job after 29 years. In 2002, my only sister passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45. The Christmas season, 11 months after her death, was very difficult for everyone and even though, she and I were not close, her absence was sorely missed. After the holidays had passed and I had finished disasssembling our Christmas tree by putting the silver branches in the cardboard box, I happened to noticed an errant red Christmas ball ornament haphaphazardly hanging on a large plant to the left of the Christmas tree. I thought that it was my husband playing a prank on me and I asked him if he had placed the ball on that plant branch and why. He acted completely bewildered and at first, I thought that he was “toying” with me. Then I realized that he know nothing about this and a chill began to run up my spine. There are just the two of us and our dog at our house. My sister had a sense of humor and liked to play pranks on people. At first, I totally discounted the absurd idea of this. But then I realized that it was my sister who wanted me know that even though she was on the other side, she could still play a few tricks. On the one hand it was comforting, but on the other hand, it was very eerie to me.
