"When I was about 10 years old, my mother had to have an operation," reports Heather. "My sister and I had to stay in my granddad's house with our two cousins overnight. As I was the oldest, I fell asleep last, but awoke soon after feeling very hot and distressed. At first I could hear a muffled noise, sounding like it was in a different room, but as I closed my eyes for a second time the noise became louder. As the noise got louder, it was a very distinct crying sound. Like sobbing and heaving...." But it wasn't her sister or one of her cousins, as you might have guessed.
