When I was in East Africa, I was told a “healer” (traditional doctor) was not to accept even a coin from a patient. I was told stories about locally renowned healers who, as they became more and more well-known, gave in and began accepting donations from those healed. As a consequence, they always paid the price, so I was told. They or their family members were injured, harmed in some way or even worse.
East Africans always tested these healers. If a healer has a special and extraordinary abilities, he/she should be able to tell, if the patient or client is lying. And, often patients/clients told lies or revealed nothing about themselves to the healer. All this was intentionally and consciously done from the first day the healer received his/her “calling,” so it called, even by his/her close friends and neighbors. They just want to see if the healer is truly what he/she claims to be.
But, it seems so different in the U.S. People don’t test, formally or otherwise someone who has unusual experiences and goes around lecturing about them. And, money? It makes no difference to Americans if this person is “making a killing,” as it’s called in the States. The article “You Can Walk in the Unseen Spirit World; True Sightings of Angels, Aliens, Ghosts, and Demons.” about Christian Schoyen is such a person. Christian is a businessman, who founded a successful headhunting company and who markets “a third life” by telling those who join up quickly they be eligible to win Christian’s new autographed book or even a “$100 gift card.” … Only in America!
