There is an excellent new documentary program on the bio Channel called My Ghost Story. Credible people tell their true stories, accompanied by their own video, photos or audio documentation. This is a very well-done, interesting and often chilling program with great stories and a minimum of TV hype and effects. Finally, here's a paranormal show I really look forward to watching every week (Saturday nights). I highly recommend it. Read my full review.

I love this show! It is one of the few I truly think is real! I am a big time Ghost hunters fan, so fake things make me ill! You know, the shows that say “If you are here with us do something” Then something happens and it is “Oh My God what was that?” I am forever yelling you asked for it now shut up!
I like it too, but WAS a Ghost Hunters fan until I discovered Ghost Adventures. This and My Ghost Story are the two best paranormal shows on tv!
I was excited about this show when I first saw it, but it quickly lost credibility. What makes these people “credible?” Many of these people are grieving. I recently lost a loved one and understand the desire to communicate with the deceased or receive some kind of sign. Also, many of the guests are affiliated with locations that are known to be “haunted.” I cannot help but feel that these people going to a location looking for signs of a haunting. Finally, and most importantly, the physical evidence presented is very questionable physical evidence. I feel sorry for bereaved friends and family who believe that specs of dust and over and/or slow exposure of film is evidence of their deceased loved ones. “Orbs” are not, and never will be, signs of a haunting. Where is the evidence, journal articles, etc., showing that orbs are definite signs of a haunting? It doesn’t exist. It’s also not a theory…theories require testing and replication…it’s never been demonstrated. There are many physical anomalies that are called “paranormal” because the witness does not understand certain laws of physics and scientific principles. As humans, we have a natural desire to seek an explanation. It’s good entertainment, but unfortunately it can be disheartening as well.
I don’t believe that the reviewer has ever seen this most awful program. It is a disgrace and insulting to the intelligence.
I can’t imagine how a once respectable channel such as BIO could lower themselves. I assume that they think that because it’s rather “scary” that that is the zeitgeist and that is the trouble w/ alot of this new programming. What they think will bring in the bucks (and sadly sometimes it does) but to sell out so badly from a channel that was once highly respected is a disgrace!
The only 2 programs which are still stellar are the 2 of Shatners and Bill Curtis’s American Justice (or whatever it’s called today, something “hip” like Notorious.
And the Bill Curtis’s programs are getting more rare daily, what a damn shame.
When I first saw the beginnings of the ghost stories I was shocked that I had the BIO channel on. I honestly wouldn’t take them to be so low.
And there is another one which isn’t nearly as bad and could have been a decent program but it’s just boring in the manner in which they’ve pu it together. Something about different frightening situations.

This reviewer is one of those suckers born every minute apparently. Most all of the stories on this show are among the most transparent acts of hoax, bugs, dust and ignorance. Seriously, get a clue. It is shows like these that take away from any credibility gained over the past 20 years and throw all paranormal investigators into a negative light. This is the Jerry Springer of paranormal shows. White trash with a camera and dust instead of three kids and a vanishing daddy.
Just what in the world is happening to the cabel overall? Particularly the Bio?
How can such garbage such as…………….oh god, there are just so many that the list would be extensive. I’ll use one and I think it is Ghost Stories, I survived (which might have been decent had it not be so stretched out, which makes it boring.
To take a gem of a show called American Justice, now named notorious AND the Wm. Shatner programs placed among those terrible terrible “shows” speaks volumes. To mix embarrassing, truly embarrassing programs w/ 2 real fine programs Notorious, and the Shatner programs just doesn’t fit. Being that there is absolutely no comparison what so ever in the quality of these programs who would approve such lack of continuity? There must be someone there in charge who’s ego is in need of satisfaction, someone who has not a clue as to what they are doing. Someone who just might be a family member?
I don’t know what is wrong there, but I do know without any doubt, something is awry. it very well may be the old nepotism situation, but whatever it is, it’s wrecking the quality of the channel.
Right now Crime 360 is on and the acting (and yes, it is without any doubt acting, if not, the actors are sooo bad) and the script and music is really disastrous worse than disastrous it’s comical. It’s all copies of other doc’s but it is pathetic.
Why would all of this garbage be given priority over all of those American Justice tapes you MUST have? Those American Justice tapes were works of art, engrossing from beginning to the very end, and the ingredients were more than superb just the voice of Curtis alone was enough!
Where went your taste? I assume that the new Notorious is only run due to contractual reasons. The Shatner deal, I don’t know, but those shows are superb as well, but I really don’t have trust that that’s known. Or if it is for some reason the garbage rules! What a shame.
I say just what has happened to the BIO channel? I assume that it’s just going the same way other fine channels are going,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,going dumb!
For a channel which ran above decent programs has dropped so low it’s a disgrace, maybe a disgraceful indication? An indicator as where the minds of viewers are going? I find it scary.
Yet amongst mostly trash (I hate to use such a harsh word, but it’s true) there remains the way above average Wm. Shatner’s Raw Nerve and as of lately there has been another of Shatners that I can’t recall the name, but it is so superb that it’s shocking that the same program director would allow such garbage like Urban Legends and the other “kiddie” scary shows on the same channel. Really, it’s a dichotomy. BIO is like 2 different channels.
And the Bill Curtis shows are fantastic! Yet, those are rarely shown. Or let me say that the balance is way off. The majority is terrible programs and now and then the finely done ones are thrown in.
Just where does this BIO channel lie? Right now it appears as tho the director or whoever is the decision maker is doesn’t know either.
How can one channel have garbage AND very decent programs?
Obviously quality work is accessible but for some reason the attention it should be getting, it’s not getting. More is given to the Kiddie Crap.

My friend Lebezel has responded several times on the BIO channel. Lebezel is so right, the problem is she gets mixed up trying to convey things via words. She has a severe case of ADD and so many disorders that she has problems wording sentences properly.
However, what she’s trying to say is so true.

i am so sick of watching the same dam story for the past one or maybe even two year’s bad enoght the one about the anamial statue the the father brought back from africa the one that moves and the to guys all the sudden there useing voice stuff on the cp.you guys there at bio could’ten tell it was a big set up i don’t know about your ghost storys any more i think you people need better materiel on your show then the junk your showing. i really like the show with lawrence lee what is it called ghost encounters thats a good show but this stuff that your showing on my ghost story it’s got to go junk it not any good i also like beyond and back now that beliveable. and interesting and sounds like it does happen i like things about the after life keep trying. but that ghost story find some thing more real!not that phoney bull that your showing every week end over and over and over get some new believable storys. thank you love bio channel but if you keep doing watch your doing your going to lose alote of viewers
I love the BIO channel…my only complaint, is that they run too many re-runs all the time. A NEW story every once in a while, would be really cool!

MY GHOST STORY will scare the panties off you. i know some say it may be drammaed up but surely not all the stories. I know this because i have had a terrifiying touch of another side myself. And beleive u me no cameras, no joke playing this happened to me, a friend, and a stranger. I know there are demonds and Angels among us. The bible says spirts will roam the earth. I truly beleive they were fighting over me my entire life. This night confirmed it. YES ITS TRUE!! Oh the Angels are winning!!! VIKI
I think My Ghost Story is a mix of truth and b.s. Some of the stories portray how terrifying dust particles and light reflections on a window can be to the untrained investigators/amatures. Other stories carry a bit of gravity and have convinced me something of paranormal nature happened to the presenter.
One thing that I find of interest on many MGS shows is how totally clear some of the EVPs are, and how EVPs of different shows seem to be the same voice. Has anyone any knowledge of whether or not the show producers use augmented audio passing as EVPs, because the real EVPs are too muddled? Just wondering.
I know for a fact, from first hand experience that shows such as Jerry Springer are made fools of by people who, for the thrill of the spotlight, lie about their situations, get on the show and lie. I see no reason why a show like MGS – how ever ernest – wouldn’t be the occasional victim of lieing jerks, looking for their 15 minutes. Nothing to be done to protect MGS from jerks, so just watch it and keep an open mind and make up your own mind which presentations are truth, and which are bull from lieing pond scum looking for an audience.
