they are saying the mass bird death is nothing new. It was likely the result of birds being startled due to fireworks around the New Years time frame. The bird can’t see well at night and when they are startled they frequently ram themselves into houses, other outdoor object and yes, even the ground. So they’re saying they basically dive bombed into the ground because they were startled and couldn’t see in the dark.

Makes you think of the Nazca lines of Peru. All the images depicting birds fish inscects. Only can be seen from above. Why did they do this we can only guess.
