Electric Chair Ghost pictur

The state of Tennessee sent this electric chair to engineer Fred Leuchter, who was commissioned to update the old execution device. Leuchter began working on it in his basement workshop and took several photos to document his progress. Upon development of the photos, he was mystified by several anomalies in the picture. Does it show the ghost of an executed man? Read more and see the photo in the Gallery.

Then tell us what you think of the picture.

You may want to Google Fred Leuchter, he is not a very good person……I don’t think I would believe anything that came from him.

Patricia-I looked at his name in Google and completely agree. He is tainted…thus anything he touches is also. This website should pull anything to do with this man.

As Mike and Patricia said before: I would never believe anything from Fred Leuchter. His investigations are really a big shame to humanity.

Fred’s opinions, which, though largely unpopular, are very carefully researched. The area where he is unquestionably an expert is in the technology of state sanctioned executions, or as the death certificates of people subject to this punishment say, legalized homicide. He performs a job that is critical, in maintaing the machinery of state executions. I will be happy if one day his job is not required. But, since it is required, he performs a meaningful service.

However, perhaps one could separate his writings from the output of a small digital camera. This photo exhibits the most common element of many ghost photograps which is scale distortion of the appearing entity. Where would whatever a ghost is be more likely to appear?

A Holocaust denier and an execution expert?? Restoring an electric chair in his basement?? Sounds like he wishes he used to work for the Nazis. RE the image, it is matrixing at its best from a attention seeking freak. Did the the condemned guy have a tiny head? What are we supposed to be seeing on the arm of the chair? How did this even get published?

I came back to see other comments about this pictues and noticed the on about the movie on Netflix. Having Netflix I start watching to see what this guys is all about. The movie actually made me fell a bit better about this very quirky man. But I abruptly stoipped watching when the movie addresses anomalus image. I wanted to see when the movie was made and upon additional Googling it I see that the movie was made in 1999! Now I’m wondering why we are all wasting our time discussing a photo taken at least 12 years ago. And if anyone wants to look at it, the image in the movie is a hundred times clearer than on the website, with the areas in question showing a much clearer “head” and the arm of the chair I question above actually shows what could be considered by some as looking like a hand gripping the chair. I am not trying to sell tickets to watch the movie, but If you want to see it it is at about 15 minutes into the movie. I’m not going to watch the rest since I am not so interested in learning about how to kill people. But why the heck are we all talking about this old image anyway??? And I must say about.com did not publish a clear enough image to do this untimely article justice either!

Disgusted — I agree that the film does provide a better version of the picture. I did not have access to the original photo and, of course, when you put pix on the web, the resolution is decreased to keep download time faster.

But I don’t understand your objection to the age of the photo. If it’s an interesting photo, what difference does it make how old it is?

We have pictures in the Best Photos Gallery that are almost 80 years old.

Alright, let’s get this out in the open. Yes, the guy who took this picture, Fred Leuchter, has presented “evidence” in a court case in the defense of a Holocaust denier. Leuchter’s so-called evidence was not only disregarded by the court, but essentially deemed worthless by experts. You can get the details in a documentary called “Mr. Death: Fred A. Leuchter Jr.” (which is available on Netflix if you’re interested). This misguided and incompetent “research” on his part has virtually ruined his life and reputation — rightfully so, most would say.
…. All of which has NOTHING to do with this photograph, which I think has some very interesting anomalies.

I understand what paranormal says about the picture, that there appears to be more in it that is normal. We all want to find proof that there is something more than this sad world, that’s why we come to this site. But if you examine the man fred leuchter and his body of work (look on line, wicapedia for example) he is tainted beyond belief. Any proof that he presents must be examined with the body of work because a person’s character is the man. Hitler was insane and evil but the trains “did” run on time. I do not compare him to hitler but as a comparison that one right does not undue many wrongs. Keep searching paranormal for answers and so will I….

I understand that you want us to just look at the picture objectively but I don’t think that you can seperate the picture from the photographer. Anytime you post a photo or a story or an article I try to research the person behind it because their credibility does matter. Trying to put forward anything from this particular man as evidence of the paranormal will do nothing but create distrust because of his history of denying the Holocaust.

If it is the picture of an executed man why does it seem to be smiling

(12) Visara says:

There is nothing paranormal here. It’s either faked, or simple matrixing.

Most likely faked since the guy who’s restoring the chair denies the holocaust ever happened. That right there tells you there’s something wrong with his brain.
