There are some events that are so strange, so impossible to figure out that the reaction to them by most people is simple disbelief. It could not have happened, so it didn't. Consider the following experience from Deb J. that she swears is true, yet seems impossible by any standard of logic and common sense, as well as all the laws of science. Yet we live in a world where seemingly "impossible" things happen every day. So is Deb merely entertaining us with a tall tale, or did something utterly inexplicable happen to her on a spring day in 2007? This is Deb's story.

if this story is true and I have my doubts then there must have been two sets of keys. the set you left in the pocket of your coat that this woman found and the one you lost at the sushi place. They are not the same keys. Try searching around your car for the lost set of keys. You might have lost them at the sushi place also or in their parking lot.
There is a new book out that actually has a scientific explanation for cases such as this. In quantum physics there is a known phenomenon where matter exists as a solid (particle form) when observed but as a wave (potentially multiple places at once) when not observed. The largest object that this has been proven to ‘teleport’ in the laboratory that I know of is the buckey ball, which is an array of approx. 60 carbon atoms. Although this is still very small, what it proves is that the laws of the quantum world can and do apply to the macro world as well.
The book also goes into natural vortecies that occur and can capture, objects, animals and even people. These vortecies usually result in small displacements in time or space (a few hours or a few miles) but can span much greater in some cases. The science behind the models may be weird science, but it’s science none the less. Very interesting… The book I’m referring to is called ‘The Source Field Investigations’ by David Wilcock in case you are interested in checking it out.
I think we’ve all experienced losing objects and then having them turn up in unusual or unexpected places. This story is an extreme example of this same phenomena. I wonder if out-of-place artifacts (“ooparts”) are also an expression of this phenomena.
Sean’s explanation is very interestion and thought provoking, while Scott’s explanation is more unbelievable than the story itself- who has 2 sets of keys EXACTLY alike. I believe the story to be true because I have experienced smiliar events my ownself. What causes it ? One can only wonder as we know very little when it comes to understanding the laws of the universe of which our reality makes up a tiny , tiny portion.
NO, quantum mechanics has nothing to do with where you find your keys. If you want to learn about quantum mechanics, check out instead the MIT OpenCourseWare at http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/physics/8-04-quantum-physics-i-spring-2006/.
And for the record, quantum teleportation does not move matter. It moves information, specifically the quantum state. It was called teleportation because many scientists are fans of Star Trek, and they knew the provokative name would attract attention and maybe funding. The name is misleading, though.
You can believe this story about the car keys ending up somewhere else– I believe her 100% because I had a similar ‘incident’ happen to me years ago [in 1999 to be exact]..I found an envelope in my coat pocket while I was waiting for a radiation treatment ..I live in Iowa & the return address was New York..After opening the letter I discovered that it was credit card bill and a personal check which had been dated 5 days prior to day I had found it..I wrote the lady in New York to let her know what had happened & she said that she ‘had mailed’ that bill out 5 days ago at a New York mail drop box..We have no idea at all how that envelope ended up ‘in my coat pocket– way out in Iowa’ ….
She either had two sets of keys, or the story’s made-up. Keys cannot teleport. Come on, people.
Its not only that this story is fake its has more holes in it than the moon. First , how does she drive to go eat if she doesn’t have her keys ? They are not a spare set she admits as much. Also why would she thik Fit Club has its own mail system…unless someone is going from one location to another I know of no place that has such a thing. Why didn’t the lady who was so demanding that the keys get to the right person not stay and see who the keys belonged to or why didn’t she speak to her on the phone ?…You see this isn’t just a made up story, its not a very well thought out one either. There is no paranormal here , just a very bad imagination. Stephen why would you even post this….slow week ?
Tim try reading the story again. It makes perfect sense. She drove to the restaurant, got out of her car, locked the doors and put the keys in her purse. They disappeared while she was eating. Most chain businesses can get things from one business to another without using the Post office by having employees or managers carry stuff. As for why the woman didn’t hang around to see who picked up the keys why would she? They were strangers to her and she got the keys where they asked her to take them.
I do wish she had tried to follow up with the woman who found the keys. Maybe she will read this and respond!
