And what would happen if her sister did see its face? These experiences have the confusing elements of doppelganger sightings with the unnerving spookiness of a haunting. This is Jordan's story.

Hi everyone. My name is Jordan Cymbre Leggett and I’m the one who wrote this story. I submitted it to be a True Tales of October and to my shock it was published on the front page. I immediately called my sister, Jzontanna and my Mom to tell them that it was on the front page. None of us could believe it, our story right there for everyone to read. Tanna wanted to leave her own input on it so she posted it on the Forum board, which I’d like to share with everyone now that we can comment on our story. But since you can only post 10 to 2000 characters, I’m going to break it up into different comments….
“This is a response to the story found in the Paranormal Phenomena section entitled “The Doppelganger Haunting”. My sister submitted the story and informed me of its public viewing. I am her sister Jzontanna and this is a fairly accurate rendition of what we have experienced. I personally attest to the sick feeling of dread and discomfort when I even stop to think about coming face to face with my Double-Tanna. I have always had a slight, understated feeling of being followed or perused when I spend any great time alone and this magnified during my high school years in Florida when the being was first reported by my family. When they confronted me on these encounters my feelings of paranoia and apprehension intensified greatly. I do not know what this entity is or why it has been described in having my appearance. I do normally keep my red hair long and my clothing even bizarre. It is not a case of mistaken identity, especially in my own home. Since these sightings or confrontations I hold a steady conviction that it is searching for me in some way and if I were to gaze into its false face, its stolen face, it would destroy me. The thought of its eyes in particular is something that frightens me. I can’t discern whether I am afraid of it not actually having eyes at all or instead having some horrid pits or blackness instead. I do feel that if I am to look upon it in the face it means it can complete its task, possibly take over my existence on this plane and end my life.
My sister failed to mention the most recent encounter and possibly the most sinister. This again happened on our Kentucky property, about four or five months ago. My mother was lying down on her sofa to take a nap and might’ve even began to doze. She has mentioned the feeling of a muffled, sneaky apprehension, like this being was able to appear without her detection which is rare for our mother to not notice something paranormal or not of this understood realm. She says this ‘other me’ was as solid as any flesh and stood not more than four feet from her couch staring down upon her. I am not very tall, maybe 5’4 and she described it as almost looming. The strangest part being that it was wearing my work uniform yet again, with the uniform hat pulled down low to cover its eyes. She says the cap created a thick shadow that did not allow even the glimpse of its eyes to be seen. This time my mother says its lips were moving, saying something with my voice that she could not discern to be English or at least not understood. She said it talked low and without pause. The being moved its head to the side when my mother sat up for a closer look and simply walked towards the hallway and disappeared. This, to me, seems it is aware of our presence enough to not allow us to see it fully. Perhaps those eyes are meant only for me in the moment of my death? I do not know. I feel anxiety and I am concerned that it has once again zeroed in on my location. It is making itself known and it is getting either stronger or more brazen. Sometimes I worry I don’t have much time left.”
So that’s what my sister has to say about it, She probably knows better than I do since it’s her Doppelganger. But one thing I do know is this, I can’t explain what is happening to our family. Hopefully someone out there has some answers for us to explain this all. Maybe our story could help anyone else who have experienced the same thing.
It sounds to me that maybe your sister was a twin in woumb?… and she may have absorbed the other fetus, and now that soul haunts her?… I’m sure a psychic could help solve the mystery…
Something like this happened to us once. My wife saw ‘me’ walk past her through the house one day, tracking mud on the carpet as she vacuumed. She only saw me from behind. She swears it was me. When she followed ‘me’ to my office which she saw me enter, I was not there. It left her chilled to the bone. Three days later, I found a filter-less cigarette butt in an empty ashtray on my desk in the morning, extinguished very neatly, with no ashes in the tray, as if someone was going to smoke the other half later. I do not smoke unfiltered cigarettes. We’ve never been able to figure it out.

A very similar incident occurred to me when I was a child (maybe 10 at the time). I saw my stepfather walk past my bedroom door towards his bedroom not more than five or six feet down on the other side of the hall. I went to go get him so I could look at some of his art books. It was pretty early in the day, I don’t remember exactly when but it was right around dinner. I remember that it was right around dinner very clearly because I got into quite a bit of trouble while looking around my parents room for him when he came up to get me for dinner. He still thinks, to this day, that I was snooping around looking for something other than himself. My mother and I also both heard him on many occasions in other rooms of the house when he was at work. Though I only ever saw him that one time.
I really do believe Doppelganger sightings are on the rise. What I don’t understand though, Why do some people have them while most others don’t. My mom and myself don’t have one but my sister does…What are Doppelgangers and where do they come from? My mom has a theory that everyone in the world has one in a parallel universe and some of them have found out how to jump the plane to our universe. I’m not sure I believe that though.
I don’t know what to believe, all I know is that I know my sister has one and it’s different from other Doppelgangers that many people have reported.
Jordan, I believe that a Doppelganger is a very talented spirit. The German Folklore had given this type of an encounter a very dark image of being an omen. The Norwegians folklore refer to this entity as the “Vardoger”. The Norwegians refer to this as a paranormal double. This is just my opinion with my experiences with my Doppelganger that stalked me for over a month. I believe it is just a talented spirit that has the ability to mimic. It is just a prankster not really out to cause harm. It is also a spiritual attachment. So…when someone is being mimiced by this talented spirit…that person must have been in a haunted location to where this entity, for some reason or another, felt connected to a person and attached themselves to that person to follow them and memic them.
