"I am very excited," writes Martha Jette, "as I captured my very first ghost/spirit on film during a channeling/séance at Blythewood Manor in Niagara Falls, Canada."
I do see the vague form of a human-looking figure, and I have outlined it in the Gallery version to help readers see it. Is it an apparition? Or is it an illusion? What do you think?

There is clearly nothing there. This is obviously a case of you want to see something therefore you do.
If you hadn’t highlighted the alleged figure I would never have seen it. Quite simply, there is nothing there.
I saw the figure right away, but I agree that it is most likely an illusion.
Once again, it’s simply matrixing. There’s nothing there.
Well… there are curtains in front of the windows. The sun is shining through the windows, striking the fabric of the closed curtains. So the ‘figure’ is most likely sunlight falling onto the uneven surface of the curtains. The area being called a figure even follows the logical direction of light coming through the windows from the upper right and falling at an angle towards the lower left. Notice the light falling on the right-hand side of the seated gentlemans face.
(I’ve always felt the famous ‘brown lady’ photo was a similar case of light through a window, particularly since a second similar light area to the right is generally ignored completely, and the two light areas together form a distorted but recognizable rectangular form. I’m always astonished that no-one has researched to see where light usually falls on that area of the staircase. I suspect if you photograph during the same season, the same time of day and the same atmospheric conditions (clouds, ect.), something similar probably shows up rather consistently.)
