"Must say hello" and "That stranger is not real"
"I said hello every time I record," says Linda when she tries to talk to spirits. In this EVP, the spirit responds, "Must say hello." Then Linda believes she hears a male voice say, "That stranger is not real."

"If he did say that," says Linda, "they don't see us as being real? Makes you think of the movie The Others.

"Homemade?"
In this EVP, Linda says, "I made you some hamburgers," and the ghost voice responds: "Homemade?"

As the founder of Paranormal Research and Investigative Studies Midwest (PRISM) based in Omaha, NE, I think some of the best evidence of ghosts that we have found has been in the field of EVP. We recently captured several EVPs at the Villisca Axe Murder House in Villisca, IA. These were recorded during two separate visits to the house. In all three, you will first hear the original audio clip, then you will hear the EVPs looped and slowed down by 20%. (This makes it easier for one to hear what is being said.) All EVPs recorded are of children... there were no children in the house while we were there.

1. "Get in here"
I ask, "What time are we supposed to leave here anyway?" Then one of my investigators, Anney, says, "I dunno." Immediately after that, two children's voices (a boy and a girl?) can be heard talking over each other. It sounds as if the boy is saying, "Get in here," and it is difficult to tell what the girl is saying. Right after that, I think that I heard somebody say something and I ask, "What?" Anney responds with "huh?"

2. "He's gonna hurt us"
Two children can be heard whispering. One child says what sounds like, "He's gonna hurt us," and then the other says what sounds like "Paul." At that moment, I say, "Whoa ...that was a good one. What was that? That was a good one." referring to a photograph that I had just taken that showed a mist. (Paul was one of the children killed in the house.)

3. "Do it again. Lena, you do it"
Immediately after investigator Anney H. asks, "Hey sweetie, can you close the door?" A child's voice can be heard saying what sounds like, "Do it again. Lena, you do it." The clicking sound heard in the middle of the EVP was caused by someone moving something around in the children's bedroom. There were only adults in the house that night, no children were present. (Lena was one of the children killed in the house.) – David Rodriguez

Unknown Whisper
I have experienced the paranormal all of my life and in my childhood I was always terrified of what would happen next.
I learned how to deal with spirits and to speak with them and to not be afraid of them. Here is a copy of an EVP that I picked up in July. I had started by asking if anyone is here, but I didn't like how I sounded the question and turned it off to start again. Before I could ask the question again, there was an EVP already present. It is in whispers, but I and many others can understand it perfectly. Will you please tell me if you too can hear and understand it? – Tina

Readers respond:
I can hear "Help me. Let me out of here." It sounds like a little girl, or maybe someone in their early teens. – Carrie

1. "Come on, Buttons"
She's saying the same thing I am, right after I say it. I'm calling my dog. I'm saying, "Come on, Buttons." I'm the first voice, she's the second.

2. "Got the knife"
I have alot of EVPs, but most are too low for most people to hear. I hear a woman saying something loud, but not understanding it. As I have found, you can run some EVPs backward and understand what they are saying. Sometimes it sounds like one word, but when run backwards I hear three words:"Got the knife."
