"Goodbye, Matthew" I decided to try to record some EVP. My friend and I turned on some white noise from one of those sound generators, and we recorded this after we said we were going to leave. As far as I can tell, it says, "Goodbye, Matthew." Matthew is my name! There have been many strange things in my house - silverware shooting off a table, glasses doing the same, fans moving on their own, and even an electronic game turning on by itself. - Matthew St. John |

"Hello. Are you with me?" My daughter is a sensitive. When we moved into our new apartment, she was downstairs doing her laundry and said there was a little girl humming, but she was the only one down there. A few nights later, next to my bed I could hear somone playing the harmonica. There is nothing next to my bed; no TV, radio or toys. After that my daughter and I went downstairs to try and record an evp - and lo and behold, we found our little girl. I say, "What's your name?" Then you will hear a toot of a harmonica and she says, "Hello. Are you with me?" I had such a thrill. - Maria Reinhart, Madison, WI |

"Duerme" ("Sleep") In Dec. 2004, Coca-Cola had a special promotion here in Mexico. With special bottle caps, you could get a polar bear figure with a recorder in its base. There are two buttons, play and record. One evening this past December, my husband was away on business and the kids and I were home alone. Michael said good-night, went into his room and closed the door. The girls were watching TV in the living room and I in my bedroom. A few minutes later, he came out, his face as white as a sheet and his hands trembling. He said, "Mom, listen to this and tell me if you hear what I hear." He had been in his room playing with the recorder, recording silence. On one of the playbacks he heard a voice. I listened to it and right away I heard what sounds like a whisper, barely audible, but clearly saying "duerme" ("sleep" in Spanish). I recorded it onto the computer before it got recorded over. In this recording, you can hear the recorder being turned on. Then listen for the voice. If I didn't have to put on my strong-mother front so the kids were not frightened, I would have spent the night in a hotel! - Marsha Way |

"Cold?" In Linda G.'s latest EVP, she gets a ghost voice that seems to be concerned about her family's comfort. After coming into the house from the winter weather, a male member of her family makes the common "Brrrrrrr!" noise, to which the spirit asks, "Cold?" |
