My Sister and the Rose

I was the oldest of three sisters. My middle sister Anne-Lies died in 1998 in Holland of ovarian cancer. I am living in Dubai. At Christmas, I had gone home to say goodbye, so when she passed away I did not have the money to travel to Holland again. It hurt very much, and I blamed myself for not being there. I never heard any details about the funeral, except that many old friends were there. 

It was one week before my birthday that I heard of a British lady, who had the gift of hearing spirits. When I told my younger sister Marijke about her, she asked me if it were possible to contact her youngest son, who passed away at seven months. I invited the psychic woman for a coffee (she did not want any money). When she came in, she looked at me and said immediately that someone was giving me a red rose. It was my birthday on that day, so I told her that it could be my husband who had passed away. She kept on hearing messages from other spirits I recognized, but every now and then the rose came back. Finally, this person with the rose did not want to go away and also gave no other messages, just that one rose. The lady could not recognize if it was male or female. I gave up and was very disappointed, because I had wanting to hear from my sister. 

After the lady had gone, I called my sister in Holland and told her that her son Matthijs had not come through, but there had been someone else constantly, almost disturbing the session, insisting to give me one red rose. My sister was silent at the other side of the line. Finally, she asked me, "Didn't you know that the invitations to the funeral had one red rose on them and that everybody at the funeral, before entering the church, received one red rose?" I had never received an invitation, nor a thank-you card. Anne-Lies had organized her own funeral with care, but I was the only one to whom she gave that one red rose personally, she knew I was with her during that day and ever since.
