Warning
Lights
by Berger
I have a very close friend whom I've known for 22 years. About 10 years ago, he showed up at my door one evening. He was in a terrible mood. He and I decided to just "get out." We bought a couple of six packs of beer and were just going to ride around and talk. He drove a late model Cadillac. We lived in Texas and chose to take the back roads to drive around since we had alcohol in the car. After about an hour, we were going down an old country road and the headlights on the car blinked off and came right back on. As we drove further down the road the lights would blink, only would blink more frequently and would stay off longer. We got very nervous because we were, of course, driving with opened containers in the car. We decided to just turn around and go back home. We threw all the beer out of the car - since the headlights were blinking we knew it would attract attention. After we turned around and headed back the blinking of the headlights stopped. Everything electronic in this car was somehow interconnected with fuses, wiring, etc. He took the car the next day to have it checked out. The dealership said there was no way that just the headlights would be affected. They could find nothing wrong with the car. And it never happened again. To this day we still talk about this incident and have just decided that for whatever reason, we were being warned not to go any further down that road.
