Backyard Monster
by Bolo

It was March 12, 2007. I had just finished working out in my den from doing abdominal crunches. It was approximately 12:43 a.m. There was a noise coming from my backyard, which startled me to the bone. I have two chow dogs back there and not for a second I thought that it was them. The noise sounded like a pig when it squeals and a barking dog when it's hurt and the spooky sound of a hyena. This lasted for more than 30 seconds after my workout. I'm a really huge guy, standing at 6'5" 310 lbs - nothing scares me easily.

Trembling and shaky, I grabbed a barbell, opened the backdoor to my den very slowly as the eerie sound persisted. I first saw my dogs running in circles, looking in an upright like position, as if something was flying over real low. I saw nothing. Just before I could close the door, a huge-looking creature, monster or whatever, flew right over my dogs at about four feet, hitting my fence with its legs or something really really hard, making a sound of something extremely heavy being thrown against it.

The way I can describe the looks of it is that it had a silly, ridiculous looking body and kinda small wings for the size of its body. Most of all, I can recognize the head to be one of a horse or mule or that nature. One thing I noticed though, it hardly even flapped its so-called wings and was way up in the air in like no time. I woke my wife immediately after it took flight to tell her, and as I was going to her, she heard the eerie sound, and instantly we both got on our knees and prayed for it to go away.
