Startling Premonitions

I have two to relate. From birth until he was seven, I stayed at home with my son and did not work outside of the home. Usually I would get my husband off to work and then lay back down until time to get my son up, (who was three at the time) and then get him his breakfast. Afterwards he would watch Captain kangaroo on the TV, while I did the mornings chores. One morning after lying down, I went to sleep and had this dream. I was standing on the banks of a wide, muddy colored river, watching a paddle wheeler going up stream. The paddle was working furiously, the black smoke was rolling from the smokestacks, and I stood and watched it and I remember saying that I missed those days so much and wish I could go back. I woke suddenly with tears streaming down my face and with the utmost deepest longing for the paddle wheeler. Then I realized what was happening and told myself that that was a weird dream. I got my son up, fixed his breakfast and he went off to watch the TV. While I was washing the dishes, I heard this lovely music coming from the TV and stepped into the living room to see what was being shown. To my total amazement, the same scene that I had just dreamed a half hour before that, was being shown on the screen.

Another time there was a terrible thunder storm going on, and I was standing looking out of the little windows on the front door. There was a flash of lightning and a loud thunder roll, and without thinking I told my husband that he should get ready to go to work (he was the maintenance man at a local Holiday Inn), and when he wanted to know why. I told him that lightning had just struck Holliday Inn and they would need him. He laughed because the hotel was at least 15 miles away. In a few minutes the phone rang, and when he came back in the room he was white as a sheet. He told me that was Holiday Inn and he had to go to work because lightning had just struck the air conditioning unit on the roof and he asked how I knew. I don't know how I knew.
