She Died
in My Yard
by Jamie R.
This is the strangest paranormal experience I have ever witnessed first-hand. My wife and my daughter were using a Ouija board on our patio one night this past spring. After a while the planchette began to move and the spirit of a girl named Deseree began to communicate with them. At first she only would answer yes or no questions, but after a while she began to spell out words. She revealed to them that she was 16 years old and she had passed away in our yard while playing man-hunt with other teens in our and other neighbors' yards. Our yard is quite large and has a few out buildings and small stands of trees on it, which make for excellent hiding places. Soon they were able to get a year, 1984, and a street where Deseree lived.
I wrote this info down to attempt to confirm or debunk what was coming through. Finally, she gave out the location of where she passed on. The exact words were" "In the tub... took drugs... drinking Coke." She was asked if she died in the bathroom of our house. She replied, "No... tub by shed." Now as I said, we have a few out buildings on the property and one of them is an old, dilapidated shed that backs up to the rear of the property and has quite a bit of stuff left by the previous owners. In fact, in the seven years we have lived here, I think I only went over to that shed a handful of times.
At this point I said that I'd go over and "inspect" the area around the shed. To my surprise, in back of the shed covered with debris and filled with leaves was and old bath tub. After fishing around in the leaves, I pulled out an empty can of Classic Coke. This freaked me a bit, but I still was a bit skeptical as I could be being set up by my family as a joke.
Back to the other information she had given. I went online and checked the street name. One thing I must say is I had never heard of the street and never expected to find it, but after typing it into Maps.com, the street name came up. The next day I decided to talk to a neighbor who has lived in the area for over 35 years. So I didn't come across looking like a nutcase, I used a story that I had heard some kids talking about a kid who died in our yard and asked him if any such thing had happened. Well, you guessed it - he told me about a young girl who had passed away in our yard in the '80s of a drug overdose and was found by the police the next day after her parents reported her missing. I was floored, to say the least. Here was actual confirmation of the story told through the Ouija - by a neighbor no less.
Just a note: Unfortunately, Deseree doesn't remember her last name, her parents' names or the street number. When time permits, I will research this in more detail, but I thought it was quite an interesting story.
