Darkness
Phones

This freaky event happened with
our phone. This happened on
more that one occasion. One day around 12:30 in the afternoon, our phone rang.
My mom, my brother and I were watching Darkness Falls, and it was
almost over. The phone rang and my brother and I ran out of
the TV room as fast as we could to be the first ones to answer it. Of course, being
the faster one, my brother got there first. He picked it up and
said what we always say: "Hello." And whatever was one the other
end of the phone was making this really freaky sound, like -- Have you ever seen
the movie Darkness Falls? Well if you have, you should know this -- the
sound the evil thing who can get you in the dark makes. It was exactly like that. So
he hung up just thinking whoever it was would call back and tell us
that their phone was messed up. But when it called again, I answered and was
smart and looked at our caller I.D. Of course, it was, "Unknown name, unknown
number." So I picked up the phone and in a shaky voice I said, "Hel....hello?"
And
it was the same voice, but this time, a lot scarier... and when I say scarier, I
mean way, way, way scarier. Because in the background I could
faintly hear, "Stay in the light!" I totally freaked out and slammed
the phone on the hook. My mom heard it and came out wondering what the sound
was. I told her what I had heard on the phone, and she said all the sounds
were probably from the movie, but the strangest thing was that the part of
the movie that has those sounds was already over, then it called. And even scarier, every
night as soon as I'm sleeping, I'm startled awake by the sound
that the creature makes, then I see a big, dark shadow on my wall, just like
the one on Darkness Falls. I'm never answering the phone again if it says
"Unknown name, unknown number."
