Necklace Mystery
by Iris

I was about 11 years old when a close friend of our family got sick from severe cancer. I had always thought her to be my aunt, even though she was no relative of ours. She was a skeptic and didn't believe in afterlife, and I tried to tell her that I strongly feel that her husband (who died several years earlier) is taking good care of her and loving her still. She had a hard time believing a child or anybody in this matter.

One evening when I was overnight at my friend's house, a little golden cross that I was carrying on my neck fell to the floor. The
chain was still in place and the lock was still closed. I examined the cross and there was nothing wrong with it; it had no hole or anything that would make it fall from its chain. And the chain and its lock were also in perfectly good shape. It felt so weird to me that I decided to remember the time it had fallen. Next morning, my mother called and told me that the skeptic family friend had passed away at exactly the same time that my necklace fell to the floor. Maybe, just maybe she wasn't such a skeptic anymore and was trying to show me that she is in peace and with her husband again.
