The C Distortion

Let me begin by saying that I think of myself as being sober, logical and "grounded" - so what I'm about to tell you is by far the most unusual and astounding thing I have ever heard of.

A few days ago in the morning, about 10 a.m., I was at home doing nothing special when I noticed a visual "distortion" - as I faced forward at eye level, slightly to the left of center - a small shiny something. I say it was a visual distortion because I could see it with my eyes open or eyes closed. In other words I had no choice but to look at it. Regardless of direction faced or head position, there it was, gradually growing larger in my field of vision.

As it came closer, slowly and steadily, I could make out details by not looking directly at it, but by looking slightly to one side. It was in the shape of a "C" with some important differences. The top end of the "C" was sharp, sort of like a snake's tail, the bottom more blunt. The body of the thing was made up of about a dozen separate compartments, and here is where it gets weird. Each section was a different, brilliant color and had odd squiggly, zig-zag lines - all different configurations and all going different directions. And while the "C" itself did not move per se, each compartment moved independently, or rather the zig-zag and corkscrewing lines moved in a way that I can only describe as fantastically "alive." Electric-like pulsations and color, powerful and shining in a way that did not remotely resemble computer-generated graphics, even the most advanced. There was a slight but very bright corona surrounding the whole thing.

It took about 15 minutes for this object to grow gradually larger in my field of vision - until it passed "behind" my field of vision - and disappeared. Oddly enough, this was the second time I have seen this exact same object. Twelve years ago, it appeared in the same way, and disappeared in the same manner. For the record, I have no history of mental illness, headaches, stress or disease of any kind. I'm 50 years old, and the phenomena has not preceded any unusual occurrences in my life, nor had I ingested anything unusual before - not even caffeine. I've posted this on the off chance that someone may have seen the same thing, or might have read or heard about anything like it.
