Mrs. Timme's Ghost
by Kathy

My family lives in a house that is 83 years old. We are only the second family to live here, and the people who were here before us, the husband was the builder. We bought the house from the grown children of Mrs. Timme, who was 93 when she passed away; she was the wife of the builder.

We've been here 22 years. A good number of years ago, I began seeing "Mrs. Timme", that's what I named her. She presented herself to me on three different occasions, and she looks younger than Mrs. Timme who passed away - we just use that name. The woman I have seen three times appears to be young, in a long white nightgown. It's not frightening. I have experienced other paranormal type incidences in my lifetime, so it was not frightening. The first three times I saw her, she was upstairs at the bedrooms. The rooms up on this floor have been re-configured (before we bought the house) - and we believe that perhaps one of the bedrooms was a nursery of some sort, as there is a closet that leads from one bedroom to the next, but a doorway that has been closed off and another put in a different part of the wall.

My husband has always been a skeptic. About 2½ years ago, we were sitting downstairs in our living room in the evening. Sitting on our sofa, we can look into our formal dining room, and on the right wall in the dining room is a doorway that leads into our kitchen. While we were sitting there, I saw Mrs. Timme walk from the dining room into the kitchen (this was the fourth time she presented herself), but I didn't say anything to my husband; however, he got up from the sofa and went through the dining room into the kitchen as he thought someone was in the house. It wasn't until the next day that he told me what he saw, and I told him that I had seen her too. It's the only time that she has presented herself to him.

Our daughter lives here as well with us. She's 23 now. She has not seen Mrs. Timme, though is a true believer. She did have an imaginary friend when she was younger, a pink cat named Barre. (pronounced Bar-A). Our cat that we had until last October (he passed away), often would sit in strange places in the house looking up at what appeared to be nothing and would meow. It was on those few occasions that I believe he saw Mrs. Timme.

Ever since we've lived in the house, we've heard furniture moving in the kitchen downstairs at night when we've been upstairs in bed. We also had about two years of a lamp in our bedroom constantly being turned on and off, a lot of the time during the night when we were in bed sleeping. That was a bit disconcerting. We even bought a new lamp thinking that perhaps there was something wrong with the original one, but it continued for about two years even after that.

About six months ago, I was sitting in my kitchen having breakfast. I was the only one home; it was early morning. The kitchen windows were open. Suddenly, perfume filled this big cloud-like size area around me. I even got up to look outside the windows thinking maybe someone was standing outside the windows but no one was there. As quickly as the perfume came, that's how quickly it went away. I'm not certain if that was Mrs. Timme. My mother passed away about a year ago, and at first I thought perhaps it was her. She spent a good deal of her time here with us; however, she never wore perfume, so I don't think it was her spirit.

I have had premonitions all my life, not very frequently, and I have no control over them. So, as you can see, we live a very different life here in our old house!
