Blood
on the Carpet

I'm not one to believe in the paranormal, but I'm absolutely stumped by bizarre spots forming on my carpet. The spots are forming in my bedroom, in between my bed and my bedside table. At first I thought "I must have spilled something - looks kinda like coca-cola." However, I never bring beverages into my bedroom, especially soda.
As time went on, more spots appeared. I looked at the carpet wondering if I was just imagining it all. Nope. More spots. I was sure of it. So I started to investigate. I looked up at the ceiling - completely dry. Nothing dripping. Then I checked all around my bedside table and my bed. I'm not sure what I was looking for, but unless my bedside table or bed sweats brownish fluid, they weren't the culprits either.
Finally, it hit me: "Mold!" I must have water or moisture beneath the carpet! That must be it! Not quite. I had the carpet checked for mold. Here's what we found: A perfectly dry floor beneath. No mold. And... (are you ready for this?)... the brownish substance was only staining the top of the carpet, which indicated that it wasn't originating from the floor. The stains were being caused by something from above!
But what???
At this point, I was totally paranoid. I live alone, so it's not like anyone else could be spilling something. So the spots continued to appear, some darker than others, but definitely multiplying with time. Interestingly, I have not seen these spots anywhere else in my entire house other than this same small area between my bed and bedside table - which is about 12"x18". At the rate the spots are appearing, eventually this whole area of carpet will be brown.
Now for the icing on the cake. PROOF OF A DRIP FROM ABOVE. So, about a week ago, I'm noticing more spots, and as I get down to the floor to take a closer look, I notice that there are brown liquid stains on the white baseboard. Ah Ha! "Something IS dripping from above!" I tell myself. But when I look up... nothing. NOTHING!
So I have hundreds of brownish spots on my carpet, in all different sizes, that appear to be caused by some brownish liquid dripping from above, but there's nothing dripping from above!
The spots are always dry. I have never felt them wet. And I'm starting to wonder: What color is blood when it dries? After a while, doesn't it turn... brown? If anyone else has had a similar occurrence, please let me know!
