Alien Sphere
by Patricia
One day my uncle, who was a very serious, honest, normal working father, told me an amazing true story that happened to him as a kid in Northern Mexico sometime I suppose in the 1960s in the (then small town) of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. My uncle said he was with a group of friends, skipping school as usual. There were about five of them about 12 to 14 years old. They would hang out in empty fields around town.
He said that one day they were walking through the grass when over a hill they heard a loud, strange noise and saw a very large metallic sphere coming over the hill. He said the sphere had a clear window in the front and inside was a being who was driving the sphere. The sphere was about 10 feet in the air. He said the sphere was large enough to hold a large man sitting inside. But he said he could not describe the being inside as human. He never said alien. He used the word mono which could be interpreted as a man in a suit, except he said it didn't appear to be wearing any clothes.
He said it began to chase them and they ran as fast as they could. They each ran home. He said none of them ever spoke of or dared mention the incident ever again. (They also stopped skipping school after that!)
Many years passed by and my uncle moved away. He never told any one of this strange incident. He said he had begun to think it was only a dream. Until one day in the late 1980s he went back to that little town and ran into two of his old friends at a barbershop. They began to reminisce when suddenly one of them said, "Hey, do you remember that time that alien in the shiny metal ball chased us down the field?" My uncle said he freaked out, stating he couldn't believe they remembered it too! They both said that yes it did happen and that the remaining friends had begun talking about it over the last few years.
My uncle doesn't tell many people about this story. He still seems quite rattled by it. He is convinced it really happened and still can not explain it.
