Telekinetic
Anger
by Anonymous
This is about a strange incident that happened to me at work. Last year I was employed in a very dysfunctional department at the University where I work. The women who was the supervisor there was obviously having some emotional problems, which she was taking out on all the employees who worked for her. She wouldn't speak to any of us, virtually making it impossible for us to do our work. Then she would jump on us via notes, mostly when we didn't do what we were supposed to do. Occasionally, she would shout at us. Of course, most of the time we didn't know what she expected out of us since there was virtually no communication going on.
My job was only for nine months, so I decided to try to take her abuse until I could look for another job in the summer months. I made the decision that even if I didn't find another job, I would not come back in the fall. She really started getting on my case, leaving weird notes on my desk every day, putting quotes on paper about trust, false friendship, etc. in my work assignments, and she would listen to my conversations behind doors or walls when I was talking to co-workers.
I internalized a lot of my anger knowing that this women was disturbed and that I would be leaving this department soon. To make a long story short, one day I came to work and found a mean note on my desk about how I should be careful when I stapled documents because some report I stapled for her had come apart. Well, I was really mad because all our office equipment was falling apart and my stapler needed to be replaced, but my supervisor told me I would have to make do with it. It wasn't in the budget for a new one, she told me. Of course she didn't tell me how the heck I was supposed to staple these big budget reports with a stapler that was 100 years old.
A few weeks later, I came into work and, of course, she was up to her harassing tricks again, and I remember being very angry all day. I went to our student desk downstairs and there was a stapler there with one of our supervisor's famous notes on it. The note said this stapler will work if you pull it up and hold it while you staple! I was so mad I thought, "Why don't you just order a new one, for goodness sake?" Anyway, I touched the stapler and her stupid note. Man, was I mad that day. The other secretary that worked with me was laughing about how ridiculous the whole incident was.
I left work for the day, and when I arrived at work the next day, my co-worker told me that our supervisor was using the flawed stapler at the student desk when it malfunctioned and a staple went right through her finger. In fact, my co-worker said it was weird because it was just what our supervisor deserved. What struck me as strange was this: I was the last one to touch the stapler before my supervisor used it. It was almost like I transferred anger into it or something.
Other things happened to me last year when I was angry. One time I was using the computer and one of the pages it printed out looked like it was in another alphabet. Our computer person at work said he had never seen anything like that ever happen. I went to get some money out of my bank machine one evening with my electronic card. After I got the money, I went out with a friend. Later in the evening, I was looking at my receipt and realized that the money I got out was from someone else's account, not mine. How in the world did that happen, I wondered, because you have to use a password? I figured the bank would catch it, but they never did. I eventually went to them and they couldn't figure it out at all!
I don't know what was going on. I read about sliders and it seemed to fit my description. Even now if I am a little angry or off about something, when I go to turn off a light it will just blow the bulb. I do that all the time. I was in my husband's vehicle the other day and the electronic beep for his lights being on keep going off. He said it didn't do it anymore after I got out of his truck. Also, my kids' toys that are battery operated go off around me for no reason sometimes. I really get scared sometimes.
Does this stuff happen to anyone else and is this what happens to sliders? Guess I will have to do some research on this subject.
