The Pale
Visitors
by William W.
This story has been told to me by my father, who isn't much for telling stories unless they were true. Here it goes. When my father was a young boy around the age of seven, he was living with foster parents on a farm, working there for money and room and board. The couple he was staying with had two younger children and everyone stayed in the same house. One night my father woke from his bed unable to move. He looked up and said he could see someone standing in the middle of the doorway, about the same height as him. He could also make out two figures of the same size next to his bed, but could not make out what they looked like, except for a pale complexion and short body. He says he was so frightened that he could not move - at least that's what he blames it on. All of a sudden, he found the courage to do so and hid under the covers, shut his eyes and just prayed.
The next morning he woke up to go out and do his daily chores. He had asked his landlady if she was in his room last night or if she had heard anything odd. She replied no and knew of nothing odd. He decided not to mention his full story to them. As he went outside in the field across from the farm house, he could see the two children playing on what seemed to be a cow on its back. Sure enough, that's what they were doing. The cow, however, was dead and there was a huge crop circle pattern burned into one of the fields. In a matter of one hour after relating what was going on to his land keepers, military personnel were all over the place. He never heard of anything about it again and I've only heard the story twice, as it is not something he desires to talk about.
