House Disturbances
by R. F.

When I was about two, my family and I moved into quite a large house in England. It did not seem scary at all. There was me, mum, dad, my brother and my sister who are both older than me. When I was younger, I did not like the dark, so my mum used to leave the door half way open and leave the hall light on so that it would shine into my room. Every night after my mum had tucked me into bed, I would hear music, like at a carnival, then hear people cheering then the sound of horses and other animals. I could also see shadows on the wall. The strange thing is that I never remember being scared. That went on for as long as I can remember.

Then my sister fell pregnant. When she had the baby, one day my dad, sister and brother where in the house (my mum had taken me out for the day). They were all sitting downstairs and the baby was upstairs in her cot. They had baby monitors. One was in the room where the baby was sleeping and the other one was in the living room where they sat. Bear in mind, it was a very large house and the baby's room was quite far away. They began to hear crying through monitor. But as the cries got louder, they realized that it was not the crying of a baby, but that of a girl or boy of a much older age. When they went upstairs, the baby was asleep, so they thought it might have been interference. They turned off both baby monitors and went downstairs, but the sound was still coming through! Even when they unplugged them, it was still coming through louder and louder. I don't know what happened after that; it must of just stopped.

About a year later my grandad died. In our house we had a pool room with a bar and all that. Every Saturday night we would have some of the family round for a drink. During the week, the room would be locked and the pool table set up for the following week. Just after my grandad died, I heard the balls on the pool table rolling round as though someone was playing. I told my da and when he went in to check, my grandad's cue stick was out and the balls where all over the table!

Another night, my sister had gone out to a night club and my brother was sleeping over at his friend's, so there was only me, my mum and dad in the house. By the time my sister came in, we where all in bed as it was the early hours. As she was walking up the path, she thought she saw my brother waving to her through his bedroom window, so she waved back. The next morning, my sister asked my mum where my brother was because he was usually up quite early - and she told her he slept out. So who or what was waving at my sister? We never found out, or about any of the other strange things either. Also, when my cousin and I were playing outside just as it was going dark, someone waved to us from my brother's window as well. Was it the same thing/person?
