The Haunted House
by Melissa H.
A friend and I went with another friend to see his new house. It was an older house with really high ceilings. Our friend that owned the house had to go to an AA meeting and, of course, we stayed at the house. As he was leaving, he told us not to be scared of his "friends," and without explaining he just left. We were left wondering what he was talking about and just figured someone was coming over or something.
We were exploring the house just to see what it was like and all of a sudden we heard a big bang in the room across from us. We went to go check it out, but saw nothing but a ratchet extension rolling away from the wall, as if it were thrown at it. Then all of a sudden the toilet flushed by itself. We looked at each other kind of frightened. Then the telephone rang and my friend answered it, but no one was there. The strange thing about it is that when we picked up the phone again, it was completely silent - and the line wasn't hooked up in the first place by the phone company. In the same room as the phone, the cord on the fan started swinging by itself, then a battery flew into the wall. We ran into the hall and a penny fell from above. There was more banging from the other rooms in the house. On the mirror in the hall, there were streak marks through the dust that weren't there previously. My friend and I were freaked out, so we sat outside until our friend returned.
We told him about it and he just laughed and said, "I told y'all not to be scared."
