Old Hag Terror

When I was in 5th grade I had one of the worst experiences of my life. I still sometimes can't sleep when I think about it.
I used to live in an old apartment complex. The place I was in was fairly new. My mother, my brother and I lived together in this small apartment together. My brother and I shared a room with bunk beds. Every night before bed we would close the door. After the night of the old hag experience, the door was dented on the outside and was open in the morning. The night it happened, I had a nightmare. It was pretty bad. I woke up in a cold sweat and was staring at the ceiling because I didn't want to turn the light on and wake up my brother. (I was on the top bunk.)
I woke up in a cold sweat, staring at the ceiling. All of a sudden, I heard the sound of something running on the floor outside of my room. It was a loud clatter that sounded like a horse galloping! Soon after it started, I heard a big bang and something had jumped on my chest. I felt an evil presence!! I was trying to move, but I couldn't. When I tried screaming for my brother below me, all that came out was a throaty murmur! When I realized I wasn't going to go anywhere or say anything, I had an out-of-body or (near-death experience). I was above myself and I could see only the terror in my face. I thought to myself, "Am I dying?"
In seconds I heard a voice say, "You're not ready!" Right after that, there was a white flash and my voice cracked and I screamed as loud as I could for my brother. He woke up and comforted me, and let me stay in his bed the rest of the night. I had that experience a second time that night, but I was ready for it and for some reason I wasn't scared. That time, there wasn't a nightmare or a near-death experience involved. There was one thing that really baffled me. It was the three scratches I had on my chest that I noticed the next morning in the shower.
Something evil had attempted to kill me that night!
