Strange Winged Creature and Other Weirdness

My story starts in the summer of 2001 or '02. I was staying with a friend and we would always walk around his neighborhood at night, usually around 12. We were always quite interested in paranormal type things and finally had a few of our own over the course of about two weeks.

Our first encounter was with some type of manifestation. We were walking down the hill to get to the field we would usually sit in and look for UFOs, but before we got have way down the hill we saw a faint glow off in the woods. We stopped to look at what appeared to be a young white-haired boy in an old school uniform surrounded by a faint glow. As soon as we noticed him, we both had a cold hair-raising feeling that's not normal for summer time in Alabama. We both totally freaked out and ran like hell back to his house.

Over the next few nights, we were curious and proceeded to "explore" at night. The next few nights were uneventful, but we did not give up. Finally, one night we proceeded down the hill once more but barely made it to the bottom. As we neared our destination, we were stopped by a loud squealing scream from above and branches in the trees breaking. Suddenly, there was a gust of wind and a loud flapping sound as if it were wings. Naturally, we took off running again and as we looked back we saw the silhouette of a winged creature with arms and legs. We were scared out of our minds for the next few days.

By the next week, we built up courage to venture out again. We this time made it down the hill to the field. We went about half way in to it (this is a big field, mind you) to sit on these quite large rocks. We sat for a while looking around for whatever we could see. Finally, at the opposite end we saw a faint glowing blue orb floating up and down in a circle of trees. We watched it for a while as a circle of glowing white figures formed around it and seemed to be holding hands. We sat in complete silence as we heard a faint chanting coming from that direction. As we were leaving we had the feeling of being followed. When we made it back to the hill, we heard rustling in the woods as if it were someone or something walking. Of course this freaked us out a bit, so we went faster and sure enough the "thing" went faster as well, so we once again ran back to his house. After these events happened, they quit and never happened again, but we were still VERY cautious around these areas and never ventured out to far or to late around his area again! It was quite a scary series of events! I have more things that have happened to me and other people, but these will do for now.
