Cloaked Hospital Ghost
by David

I am writing this true story on behalf of my dad. About three years ago he spent some time working as a security guard in a private hospital in Worcestershire, England. It's worth noting my dad is quite a skeptic when it comes to paranormal things.

Late one night he was doing his routine checks on the lower floor of the hospital. This floor was empty as it was only used as a day ward area. The top floor was where the in-patients stayed overnight. His checks involved walking down the ward area and ensuring all the windows and doors to the rooms were securely closed. After doing this he started heading back along the corridor towards the main reception and saw a tall figure of a man wearing a long, black cloak walking the other way toward the doors to the reception area. He shouted to the man to check what he was doing but got no response. My dad walked briskly up behind the man and saw him go straight through the doors without opening them.

My dad entered the reception area a few seconds later but couldn't see the man anywhere. The only place he could be was the toilet as the main entrance doors were locked and the lift to the top floor was not in use. He checked the toilet but no one was there. All patients and nursing staff were situated in the ward upstairs and there was no reason anyone would be going into the day area at night.

My dad said after this incident he was talking to one of the nurses who said that the hospital building used to be an asylum many years ago and spirit figures were regularly seen by nursing staff, often during night shifts. He believes what he saw was most probably the ghost of an old patient.
