Bumped into a Ghost
by Samantha Robinson

When I was about 16, I lived with my family in a quiet suburb. It was a very friendly neighborhood and everyone got along. To pick up extra cash, I was babysitting for someone about a street over. The mother just told me to look after them as they were already asleep. There was a three-year-old girl who was already asleep and she told me that she had a son called Will who was nine.

Things were going smoothly and I went to check on the kids, but I noticed that Will's bed was empty. I was going to the bathroom to look for him and bumped into him. He didn't say anything, and I assumed that he was tired. So I took him to bed, and about an hour later the mother came home. She asked how I got on, and I just said that Will got out of bed.

She looked confused and just said, "Will is at a friend's house tonight." I was freaked out and I didn't have a clue what had gone on, but suddenly the mother looked like she had remembered something and told me about a boy. She said that sometimes the ghost of a boy walked around the top floor, but never said anything or interacted with anyone. She apologized that I had to see him.

That night I speedily went home and never returned to that house. I could not get over the fact that I had seen a ghost.
