Haunted House and Brother's Ghost
by Kashf

The story that I'm going to relate is that of my elder sister who is married and settled in the U.K. She is 31 years old and she has been married for four years now, though she has been living in the U.K. since 1999. She does not have any children. I am 18 years old and I live in Mauritius with my parents. Along with my sister, I have got a brother who lives in U.K. as well. I have got another brother and sister living in Ireland. They are all older than me.

During the end of July of this year, my sister who lives in the U.K., visited Mauitius. During her stay in Mauritius, she confided to me a few paranormal things which she had experienced. She knew that unlike my parents I would believe her since I have a love for supernatural occurrences. She started by telling me that her house is haunted (she and her husband moved into their new house in Croydon in 2005). She has not really seen any ghosts in the house, but she is so sure that her house is haunted. She also believes that the spirits dwelling in her house protect her from bad things. One early morning in 2005 or 2006 (she does not remember the date), she was preparing to go to work. She remembers very well that she had put her train ticket in her handbag, but once at the station, she could not find the ticket in her handbag. She hurriedly went home again to find the lost ticket on a table in the house. But it was too late and she missed her train. Later, she learned that the train in which she was supposed to travel had met with an accident. She was so relieved that she had missed the train and she firmly believes that along with God, the spirit living in her house, had saved her. she is now used to hear sounds from the room on top of her bedroom. Before she came to Mauritius in July, she ordered the spirits to guard the house during her absence, which they did. One day, in 2005, when my sister and her husband had just moved into their new house, a relative who was a learned person in Islam, visited them and saw of what looked like a baby wrapped in a red cloth on the bed of my sister. The baby looked dirty. Aware of the fact that my sister did not have any children, the lady immediately told my sister what she had seen. Then, a prayer was held in the house by a maulana to ward off my bad spirits (this prayer is carried by all Muslim before they move in a new house). As a result, the bad spirits went away, while the good ones stayed.

My sister also told me that during the time when she had been attending Middlesex University in 1999-2002, she used to feel a presence in the room (accommodation offered by the university) she was staying in. This phenomena started happening after she had read 'secrets of the secrets,' an Islamic book.. In Mauritius, when she was below ten years old, one day went to our parents and told them that she has talked to our dead brother. My parents were shocked because they had never told her that four or five years before she was born, my mother had given birth to a dead baby boy. But actually, my parents did not really believe her. Since that day, my sister believes that our dead brother sends help for her whenever she is in distress.
