Missing Time Near Area 51
by John Holmgren

My story begins in the year 1997. What I am about to tell you may shock and awe you, so be prepared. This is not only a true story, but there is information in this story you should be aware of.

In 1997, my wife, two boys, and I were living in the small town of Rachel, Nevada. Rachel is located 10 miles north of Area 51, a top secret military base where the U.S. Government conducts all sorts of experiments. Area 51 builds top secret aircraft, like the F-117 Stealth, the SR-72 and 75 aircraft, and unusual aircraft with lifting bodies and no wings. Sector 4 is located 6 miles east of Groom Lake. Groom Lake is part of the whole Area 51 sector.

Now for my story. I ran a small T-shirt shop in Rachel named Close Encounter's T-shirt's. The town's population is 98, so the town is fairly small. One morning in March of 1997, I opened the T-shirt shop as usual. It was a clear day and the temperature was around 65 degrees. My wife would occasionally come into the shop and help me with the customers. Around 11:47 a.m., she came in and asked if we could have lunch together. I replied to her that I would, but let me lock up the store first. I shut everything down and locked the doors. We both got into our 1983 Honda Accord and drove to the gas station in Rachel. It was only a block or two away. We grabbed a hamburger from the floor freezer unit and heated it up in the microwave. After it was warmed up, we stayed about 20 minutes and ate lunch there in the gas station.

The time was around 12:15 p.m. when we left the gas station. I had decided to cruise around the town because I was bored and didn't want to return to work until around 12:30 p.m. The town consists of a few homes and a few mobile homes and that's about it. We drove down one of the back roads and stopped at a stop sign. For some reason -- and I don't know why -- I paused at the stop sign longer than I should have. The air felt strange around us, almost thick an heavy. I waited for about two minutes and proceeded back to the T-Shirt shop.

I parked the Honda and my wife and I got out. I stood by the side of the car and sensed something was wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it. Within a minute or two it hit me, and I realized what it was. I asked my wife if she noticed something strange. She looked around and then gave me the strangest look. Her reply was this. "Honey, the sun has gone down. What the hell is going on here?" I looked at my watch, and the time read 7:30 p.m.!

At that moment, reality for me changed. I lost seven hours of time. My boss, Don, around the time I was looking at my watch pulled up in his truck. He asked where I had been and asked where his son was. My boy and his boy were inside my motor home playing video games. I tapped on the motor home window and my son came to the door. I asked him what time he thought it was. He said around 1:00 p.m. I said it was 7:30. He said I was nuts, until he went outside and saw the sun gone. I told my boss what had happened and he began to laugh. My reply was this. "I knew you would think I lost my mind." He said, "Wait until you lose three days, like I did."

Upon further investigation, I found out that in Rachel, Nevada, missing time is normal. Rachel is located on highway 375, nicknamed the Extraterrestrial Highway. If you want to experience a time shift, you just may, if the time is right. Area 51 is where they reverse-engineer alien spacecraft.
