The Bell Witch Predicts

When I was six years old, my family lived in Port Royal, Tennessee. It is not too far away from Clarksville, Tennessee. I do not know how far away from Adams, Tennessee this would be. We lived in a large house around 100 years old, standing on a large hill. We had all heard the stories of "The Bell Witch of Tennessee." We had heard the story that Andy Jackson was coming to visit John Bell. Andy Jackson said in his carriage that there was no such thing as "The Bell Witch." Just then, his carriage wheels stopped. Everyone got out, the wheels were spinning, the horses were pulling but there was no movement. There was a voice, it said, "Do you believe now, Andy Jackson?" He said he did, and she let the carriage go. My father and mother were expecting a baby. My father was in the waiting room, he heard a voice say, "The Wilson baby is dead." He said it was so clear that he sat right up, but no one was around. Yes, my baby brother was stillborn.
