Channeled Music?
by  M. Giles

My mother died when I was 18 years of age in November 1981. It was a very difficult time for me with no real personal ties with my family and a father whom I hardly knew and lived in another state, re-married with two children of his own. Since that time I've developed without any lessons the ability to play the piano without reading music. I can't read music. My mother Joan was an accomplished concert pianist and so was my grandfather (her father Maurice). I can now play Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen on the piano virtually note by note including Brian May's (Queen's guitarist) complicated solos. I can play virtually anything, although some of the classical pieces are too hard. People cannot believe that I can't read music. Sometimes when I play, my mind wanders off to perhaps something at work or whatever and I continue to play without thought.

One night while in bed talking to my lovely partner, Karen, I mentioned how hard that time of my life was when I was just an immature 18 year old and mum died. At that instant, a soft glow, like a child's night light, appeared like a little ball hovering above the keys of my synthesizer. Karen saw it too and questioned if I had left the digital piano on, then the soft light went away. It was not frightening in the least, just unusual and unexplainable. I am a very down-to-earth person, not easily fooled and usually need hard scientific proof to acknowledge anything.
