Ghost
Housemates

Exactly seven years ago I a bought a house in a suburb housing division outside Tucson, Arizona. The house was only nine years old, but the previous owner had done nothing to keep it up and it was in much need of cleaning and repair.
After the initial few hectic days of moving in and taking possession of the house, I noticed that the house felt cold and unnatural. I also noticed that the house seemed to have shadows moving about and items would be moved from locations that I had placed them with no apparent explanation. There was just me and my dog living there. There were only two rooms that I spent most of the time in and five rooms that I stayed out of as they had an evil presence about them and this presence did not want me in them, or so it felt. I noticed at times that I would feel someone or something touch me on the shoulder or back.
Six months after moving in, I was married and my wife and her dog moved in to the house with me. We both had numerous encounters with ghostly shadows, and things that go bump in the night. It was as if the house and its ghostly inhabitants wanted us out.
At this point with my wife wanting to move, I decided to fight back. I was not going to be chased from my own home. We made some inquiries as to what to do and it was suggested that we burn sage and sprinkle holy water throughout the house. We did this and along with much praying the atmosphere would change and the ghostly presence would abate. But it would return over a period of time. I began to get angry and while at the beginning I was timid, I now became aggressive in my actions and emotional state. When I would have an experience, I would shout at it and demand it leave. The more I took a stand the less the house seemed possessed. After five years, we hardly have any experiences but every once in a while we see and notice ghosts about the house. I then order them out and all seems calm again.
We began remodeling the house two months ago replacing carpeting, painting, tiling, and cleaning. The house has changed but now we have a new problem. It seems that we have disturbed the ghosts that remain and they are moving about as if they are lost or something.
Last night while I was sleeping, I was awakened from deep sleep into an almost dreamlike state. In that state I was confronted by the ghost of a young man. He was scared and when I asked him what he wanted, he told me that there was two of them and they had no where to go. The other was of a middle aged woman.
I felt when I first bought the house that it was inhabited by many scary ghosts and over the time it has been reduced to these two pathetic beings. I have come to believe that although ghosts come in many different robes so to speak and some are angry and some are hateful and some are meek, they are just like normal people in many ways. I'm not sure what my next step is but it has been a real learning experience. When I hear people say they don't believe in ghosts it makes me laugh. They just haven't had the opportunity to experience this phenomenon.
