Old Man's
Ghost
by Anonymous
When I was around 6 I saw an ambulance at a neighbor's house. I did not know them well; however, I knew it was an older couple. By the time it was time for me to come home, I briefly mentioned it to my mother and nothing else was said about it. A few days later I overheard my mother and my grandfather talking about how bad they felt for the old women whose husband had passed (the husband was the one on the ambulance). I really felt bad for this women. I would see the old women sometimes and smile and wave. For the most part she would smile back and say hi, but you could tell she was sad.
Fast forward about five years, I was now 11 years old. One day I asked my mother if I could spend a night at my friend's house, who just lived down the street. My friend David and I wasted no time playing in his brother's room. Just by chance, his room window was facing the old woman's house across the street. I did not even give it any thought as David and I were bouncing up and down on his brother's bed. As I was bouncing on the bed - it happened so quick... like someone taking a picture - that quick. Both David and I stopped at the same time. I looked at David and he looked at me. I asked David if he had seen what I saw. He quickly said yes. However, I did not believe what I saw and I did not believe David either. Now mind you, I never told David what I saw. So being in shock but trying to play cool, I asked David what he saw. What he said gave me chills.
It was a long, reddish purplish hand that had come out from under the bed.
How could he have known what I saw? We both freaked out and called his mother. She said we were acting silly, but we did see this thing.
What does this have to do with the old women and the husband that passed? Well, with the hand incident, I don't know. What I do know is that after the hand incident, that's when I started to see him - the ghost - over a period of four years. He was an old man, I saw him two times as I looked out of my house window with him just looking back at me. David and I then saw him behind the bushes, like he was playing peekaboo.
The last time I saw the old man, my sister, her friend Sheila and I saw him. We all were playing hide and go seek at our house. I was the seeker. I had this strange urge to look out of my sister's bedroom window. It was like I knew if I looked out of that window, he would be there. Guess what? I was right. He was no more than three feet away from me, looking at me with a sort of smile. I then closed the curtain as my sister and her friend looked on at my puzzled look on my face. My sister asked what I was looking at. They all got up to have a look at what was outside the window. He was still there and all of us saw him.
