Star Wars Alien Visited Me
by Barry

The home that I grew up in has been haunted for at least 32 years. This is how long my parents have resided there and I lived there for about 20 years.

My earliest memory of strange occurrences in that house began when I was just five years old. This was 30 years ago, but I can still recall it vividly. It was the middle of the night when I awoke to something standing beside my bed. I awoke lying on my back and was immediately aware of a large shadow person looking down at me. It was about seven feet tall and had red glowing eyes. I was terrified as my young mind could not comprehend what my eyes were witnessing. I immediately slammed my eyes shut and broke out into a cold sweat as I prayed for God to make it go away. When I finally had the courage to open my eyes again some hours later, to my relief, it was gone.

I know that between this time and my next horrific encounter seven years later, many things would happen there. My older sister's would complain of noises and at one point my older sister awoke to see a Civil War soldier sitting on my other sister's back whom she shared the same room with. She described him as just sitting there looking straight ahead with a bandage on his head. Our home is on historical property and at one time had Union soldier encampments there. Many old artifacts have been found in our yard as well.

What happened to me some years later prevented me from sleeping in my own room for three months afterward. Now I know that demons can take any form that they wish; they can even masquerade as angels. That's what I believe most, if not all, of the apparitions in our house were. I'm telling you this because of the fantastic nature of what I witnessed that very nearly gave me a heart attack at the age of 12.

When the lights were off in my bedroom at night, there was usually enough light coming from around my shades from the bright street light in front of our house to see fairly well in the room. This is how I was able to make out the shadow man clearly and this thing next. I again awoke in the middle of the night on my stomach with my face facing to the left. My face was right at the edge of the bed. What was before my eyes and only about five inches from my face will be ingrained in my memory for the rest of my life. It was Greedo. Star Wars fans will know exactly what I am talking about and for those who don't I will enlighten you.

Greedo was an alien in the first (original) Star Wars movie that Han Solo had a run-in with in the cantina. This is what stood before me staring at me within touching distance of my face. Only this Greedo was about three feet tall so that its face was exactly the same height as where I lay. I don't believe a human could be more terrified than I was at that moment. I only allowed myself to look at it long enough to realize two things: that, yes, I was awake and two, that this couldn't be. (I didn't yet know the scope of demons at the time.)

I again prayed hard and over the next several hours slowly inched myself away from the edge of the bed toward my wall. I finally awoke to the sounds of my father getting ready for work. Although still dark out, this gave me enough courage to confront the thing in my room. I mustered up the nerve to jump up on my bed and spin around to... nothing. My room was empty. I immediately broke down and ran into my mother's room. I slept in my sister's room for three months after that.

I could go on for hours with all the things that have happened there, but those are the two most terrifying to me.
