Unexplained
Dog Death
by Travis Eyers
I was riding my pushbike down a dirt track with my labrador Jack following closely behind. Every now and then, I would turn around to make sure that Jack was keeping up with me and wasn't getting too tired. We had been traveling for about five minutes when we came to a small lake. I was almost to the other side of the lake (which was about 50 metres long) when I heard a yelp and splashing. I quickly turned around and began looking for Jack in the water. He was a good swimmer, but I couldn't see him. The water was disturbed near the edge and there were bubbles rising to the surface, but I couldn't see Jack. The water was very murky and appeared to be very deep.
I began to panic and raced home to get my dad. When we returned to the lake we found Jack's head floating in the water near the water's edge. The head hadn't been clean cut and we couldn't explain what could have done this. We don't get crocodiles where I live in Australia. We showed the local ranger the remnants of Jack and he was clueless. I don't normally believe in the paranormal and strange monsters, but nobody can explain what happened to my dog.
