Prophetic
Dream
by Tracy D.
I have always dreamed of
things that happen. At the time I dream these, I never now that they are the
future until it happens. These dreams will be so far in advance that I don't
recognize the person I am with in the dream or the place. I will give an example
of one of these in particular that was amazingly exact.
When I was 20, I dreamed that I was in a different place that I had never been
before. In my dream I remember riding on a train and constantly having to walk
back and forth though the walkway with a little boy that was holding my hand.
Then I dreamed of going through a doorway and thinking, wow this is a cute little
apartment! It had a little kitchen then a living room (all furnished). Off to
the right there was a hallway that lead to the bedrooms. There was a washroom
at the end of the hall. There was one room that had one big bed. The next had
a big bed and a couch in it and a walk-in closet with a bathroom that was accessed
though walking into this closet.
The weird thing was that
when I wanted a cigarette, I had to climb through a window to access the balcony.
I kept thinking to myself, "How odd!" Then the next thing I know I
am at a totally different house. It was an old Victorian-style house and I had
an uneasy feeling when I walked in. It was a funeral home! I remember looking
at the person in the casket and thinking, WHO IS THIS PERSON? I had no idea
who this person was AT ALL! I remember my parents being with me and a person
standing beside me that obviously knew me, but at this time I didn't have a
clue who he was either. Then the next part that I dreamed was outside of this
funeral home. Everyone that was inside was standing outside looking at the hearse
I kept thinking, "Okay, when are we gonna get in our cars so when can get
this funeral over with?" Then all of a sudden, the hearse started driving
away! Everyone kept standing at the side of the road. I was so confused at this
point and remembered asking my father in my dream why no one was following the
hearse. At this point I woke up.
About four years later, my parents and I, along with my fiancé and two-year-old
son had to travel by train to Ottawa for the first time because my father's
brother had past away. The train ride took forever, it seemed. When we finally
got to the hotel room, my first thought was, "Wow, this is really cute
for a hotel room." It looked like a little apartment. (I have never stayed
at a hotel before that had more than just beds in it!) Then as I was walking
down the hall to put our bags away, I had this strange feeling that I had been
there before. But I knew that I couldn't have because I had never been to Ottawa
before.
After awhile, I wanted to have a cigarette and guess what – I had to climb though a window to get to the balcony! That's when I realized that I had dreamed of this moment in time before! If that wasn't eerie enough, we arrived at the funeral home and it was the prettiest Victorian home I had ever seen. When I went to pay my respect to my dead uncle, I didn't believe it was him. The last time I saw my uncle had been quite a few years back and he had always been a big husky man. The man in this casket must have only weighed about 120 lbs... very thin. But at this point I didn't think about my dream that I had had until we all got our coats on and went outside.
We were all standing on the sidewalk talking when all of a sudden the hearse started driving away! Then I recalled my dream! I couldn't believe it! WOW! This was really happening. No one was following the hearse to the grave site! I was appalled! I thought how rude! I didn't understand until my father told my that this is the way a funeral is for someone that is being cremated. (This was the first time I had ever been to a cremation!) Then I started recalling more parts of this dream as I was trying to remember, and I realized that I had dreamed of the whole trip! On the train, I was constantly going up and down the aisles with my son (he was in the process of potty training).
As for the person that was standing next to me that I didn't recognize in my dream... that was my future husband! It was all kind of eerie, but in the same sense, also AMAZING!!
