Formation of UFOs

In 1999, my youngest daughter and myself decided to watch for the forthcoming meteor shower, that was featured on the TV show The Sky at Night. We watched the weather all day and it looked like we wouldn't be able to see anything because it was quite cloudy, but we went upstairs to to look anyway in hopes that the clouds would clear.

The time for the meteor shower passed and I was just sitting out on the roof garden looking up at the sky thinking about what the shower must have looked like above the cloud, when to my amazement I saw what could only be described as a small, black, dart-shaped aircraft just above the rooftops. I shouted to my daughter to come and look at it. By this time and as she got out to the roof a second larger craft appeared. We both looked up at the shape as it silently followed the smaller one then, as if frozen to the spot, watched as another three smaller craft the same size as the first followed.

All of these aircraft had one large center white light with two on either side (one on the wing tip and one in between the wing tip and the one on the nose) they where black and seemed to be in like a matt finish and completely silent. My daughter was quite worried at this point. She was only nine so I explained it away as a new type of aircraft that the Air Force was testing. I have watched the sky now and then since this happened, but have never seen anything that compares to them anywhere.
