Deer Legs Ran Away
by Janine
My husband had shot a deer this hunting season. He decided to try to butcher it himself and asked for my help. I agreed. The deer was hung upside-down in our garage. The body of the deer was skinned, but from the lower thigh to the hoof was fur. So as he would cut away a section of the deer carcass body, I would have to stabilize the deer by holding on to the furry legs. As one side of the carcass was cut away and my husband would lug the deer meat into the house, I set down off to the side the sawed off leg. And as the next side was cut away, I would drop that leg on the ground as well.
We left the legs in the garage that night and locked the door. My husband said, "I will throw the legs away on Saturday."
The next day, I couldn't stand the thought of sawed-off deer legs in our garage, so I was going to dispose of them that night and not wait for him to get rid of them on Saturday. Keep in mind, we have no holes or open areas in the garage that any thing or any animal could get in there. And no openings that these legs could be dragged through. So I got a trash bag, went out to the garage all prepared to throw them away.
As I unlocked the door, walked into the garage and approached the spot where I had dropped the legs, to my surprise... they had VANISHED! No trace of them anywhere! I searched the entire garage. These deer legs and hooves were nowhere to be found. We have no clue how they disappeared, but two days after they were gone, I went in the garage and it smelled like a dead body rotting away. Yet there was no evidence of what was causing the garage to smell that way. So the next day I go in the garage and no foul smell at all!
What did happen to the legs and hooves of that deer? I am absolutely puzzled. Do you think space-time took them?
