Playmate Auntie

I have two children, both girls. My oldest one who is seven from the day that she was born seems to have always had a sixth sense or is just open to seeing and hearing things that we don't. The first incident that stands out in my mind was when my daughter was nine months old. I had her when I was still young and no one in my family was happy about me having her, especially out of wedlock. I had one aunt though who supported me completely. She said that a child was gift no matter what the circumstances were. Well when my daughter was about nine months old, my aunt was in the hospital because she was dying. She had been battling cancer for a long time. My mom and dad were away at the hospital to be with my aunt and us kids were at home by ourselves. At about 4:45 in the morning, I felt my daughter sit up (we slept in the same bed) and grab the lace curtains that was next to our bed. She started hugging the curtains and giggling like she the curtain was alive. She sat there and played for about a good five minutes, then she laid back down and went to sleep. She went to sleep as if she had never woke up.

Then at about 6:00 a.m., my mom called me and told me that our aunt had died. I broke into tears and she said that she took her last breath at 4:40 and that she was declared dead at 4:45. When my daughter was about three years old she sat on the floor with me as I was sorting out a bunch of her old baby pictures so that I could place them into a photo album. There was a picture of my aunt holding my daughter when she was first born. When she saw the picture she said, "Oh mom, there's Auntie Mila." I looked at her and asked her how she knew that was our Aunt Mila and she said that she just knows. After a little more coaxing she told me that sometimes she comes over and plays with her out on the swing set and then she asked me, "Mom are you mad at her." and I told her no and then she said she thought I was because every time she comes here, I never spoke to her.
