Prophetic
Dream

The morning my grandmother died, I woke up at 6:00 a.m., and she was on my mind very strong. She had suffered a serious heart attack about a month earlier. She lived about three hundred miles from us and I went to visit when she had the heart attack, which we did not think she would survive. She had been home from the hospital for about a week and was doing very well. The day before, I had this feeling that my husband and I should go see her, and I got terribly upset when he didn't feel like going, he was recovering from surgery. I understood that it was too long a trip for him so I conceded and we didn't go. Instead we went over to his sister's house where we stayed late and ended up spending the night.
Anyway, back to that morning. I woke up at 6:00 with her still on my mind. No one else was up so I laid back down and fell asleep. I dreamed of one of our family picnics. It was one of those dreams that seemed so real I could feel the sun on my face. My cousins and I were taking a walk with my grandmother and we went up a hill. When we got to the top we realized she had stayed at the bottom. We were calling to her to come on, but she just stayed at the bottom and waved at us, smiling that beautiful loving smile of hers. When I woke up my husband was awake and I told what I had dreamed.
At 9:00 a.m. we were sitting around talking with my husband's sister and the phone rang. My brother-in-law said, "It's for you." As I walked down the hall to the phone the hall seemed to get longer and longer. I knew the only call I would be getting there would be coming from my mother's they were the only one's that had the number. I could hear my sister's husband telling me that my grandmother had just passed away and my mother was crying in the background.
On the way home in the car I reminded my husband of the dream I had told him about just hours before I got the call. I told him that I felt as if she came to me in my sleep to tell me goodbye. It's one of the most precious experiences I have ever had and I will always cherish that dream and I will never forget it. My grandmother died 19 years ago in September.
