Night
Terrors
by Robert M.
Since I was 14, I was having these strange, scary experiences before going to sleep, but very seldom upon waking up: I feel completely numb, paralyzed. I feel I am being watched and am under the influence of tall, dark... well, I guess, creatures or whatever they are. When it happens, I have a feeling they are superior to me, like I couldn't stand a chance against them. I also feel like I am not allowed to speak of what I have seen or encountered. Although I have not seen them directly, I "sensed" them, and peripheral vision is very useful at a time like that because you can see them out of the corner of your eye. Pretty scary.
This continues even today. I am now 19. But it does NOT end there. Before that happened, when I was between 10 and up, I saw strange things at night that no one else could see. Or I would wake up to see strange "planes" chasing each other. But as these "visitors" continued to scare me out of my skin, other things started to happen.
About two summers ago, I was on the train (in Staten Island) approaching the Great Kills train station when I heard a scream under the tracks. It was strange because it sounded real, yet it did not. I never imagined at that time it could have been anything of paranormal nature because I noticed a pattern that such activity could not get to me until I was about to go to sleep. I looked back onto the tracks because the scream felt very real, and the next day a 37-year-old woman was hit and killed crossing the tracks right where I heard that scream. But I was too busy with work and friends to really look into it. I just paused, shrugged my shoulders and moved on.
A week and a half before the World Trade Center tragedy, I had a terrible dream that lasted a matter of seconds, but had so much meaning. I saw two ferries collide and explode in the water. I felt it was an act of some kind of Arab group.
