Psychic
Test
by Adam K.
I have been doing a great deal of research into psychic phenomena, as well as other "fringe" science topics. I personally think "mainstream" science is narrow-minded in its approach to the unexplained, but at least I have had some experiences to reinforce my belief in the paranormal.
I had been doing lots of reading on remote viewing, after hearing a bit about it on a radio show. I had heard of it before, but until the radio show, had never looked into it. Since childhood, I've taken great interest in all areas of the paranormal, supernatural, and so forth. I was reading about the difference between remote viewing and clairvoyance . . .
There I sat in my living room, by a small table. I was dead set on remote viewing, but little did I know that would be having a spontaneous knowing, or perhaps what can be called clairvoyance. I had two decks of normal playing cards, one with red backs, and one with blue backs. All the jokers were removed as well. I shuffled the cards randomly, and without looking, removed a card from the top of the deck. With my head turned and eyes close, I then placed this card on the table next to the deck.
Knowing my living room quite well, I easily walked into the kitchen with my eyes still closed, not looking back at the card, though tempted just like any person would be. How anxious I was to test my "abilities." I sat down at my dining room table, back turned to the living room and the cards, pencil and paper in hand. In remote viewing, one sketches automatic impulses, and tries to let an unconscious flow of collective knowledge be repeatedly focused down until one can see with great detail the target.
I sat and took three or four deep breaths, calming my body and attempting to clear my mind, a practice that is quite difficult. Without warning, the word "blue" popped into my head, and I wrote it down with my eyes still closed. Shortly after, I got the impression, a small sort of glimpse almost, of a number 3 next to a heart shape.
Opening my eyes and taking another few deep breaths, I prepared myself for what I expected to be failure. I walked into the living room and over to the cards. To my utter disbelief, the card had a blue colored back. I had gotten the color right. Flipping the card over to the other side, I was also completely flabbergasted to find that the value of the card was 3, and the sign was a heart. Just as I had automatically known and written down, it was a blue-backed card with the value of 3 of hearts.
I tried repeating the test, but I think the fact that I am now expecting it to work is unconsciously hindering my efforts. It was the most fascinating thing I've ever experienced in terms of self-psychic ability. Also, the fact that the probability of guessing a card right in three aspects, must not be very high. It was two decks of cards, one deck with red backs, the other blue. I will repeat the test some point, but for now I'm working on things with easier odds. Then I'll return to the card guessing routine.
I will never forget that experience, and I will continue to try and duplicate it.
